Hi Katelyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started back in high school, where I found my passion for designing shirts. I spent countless hours in the art room—before school, after school, and every break I could get. In college, while I drifted away from shirt making, I kept the creative spark alive by crafting banners and signs for my sorority. After graduation, I worked at Elegant Chair Solutions, working closely with brides and party planners, and that reignited my desire to build something of my own. In May 2024, I launched Simply Pressed Creations as a way to merge my love for creativity with helping people celebrate life’s special moments. Whether it’s a keepsake, workwear, or your favorite shirt, my goal is to make products people feel proud to wear and share.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Let’s just say it’s been a wild ride! Starting Simply Pressed Creations came with its fair share of struggles—late nights, early mornings, growing pains, and plenty of emotional moments. One of the hardest parts has been taking the leap, leaving the comfort of my full time job, and strictly focusing on building Simply Pressed. Although I had no idea how expensive it was to start a business or the stress that comes along with it, day by day it gets easier through hard work and dedication. I am extremely proud of how much it has grown in such a short amount of time, but I could not be more excited to see what the future has in store for us.
