Check Out Sam Morningstar’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Morningstar.

Hi Sam, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Samael (Sam for short), and I was born and raised in the rich and raw city of Memphis, TN.

Growing up, I was always involved in something creative. I enjoyed dance, choir, and theater. But there was one thing that intrigued me the most and that was the visual arts.

I was never really good at drawing or painting, so I decided early on to just be a collector and admirer of the craft. I never imagined id be the artist I admired from afar. In 2016, I was gifted my first camera.

I fell in love with it immediately. I began taking pictures of my friends and family and was pleasantly surprised by the positive feedback.

I never expected my art to grow into something so hauntingly beautiful, I am so grateful to be able to create art for a living.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to living authentically as an artist has not been easy but it has been an extremely rewarding journey.

Investing in the craft caused a lot of long nights and early mornings that I will never forget. Self-limiting beliefs played a major part in stagnating the evolution of my art. I had to learn to believe in myself. I have had to fight through several adversities to stand where I stand now.

I would go back and fight through them all again if I had to. I am exactly where I am supposed to be, I deserve this opportunity to exist as my most creative self.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a creative photographer who expresses under the name Visualiens.

Visualiens is a play on the words “Visual Aliens,” as it is my duty to provide all of my co-creators with an otherworldly visual experience that they will never forget.

I am known for my “out of the box” artistic concepts alongside my tones and colors that mimic rainy summer nights. I enjoy experimenting with shadows, noise, and grain.

I enjoy working with artists, business owners, and entrepreneurs who want their visual ideas to mirror their deepest creative desires. I have created a safe space for everyone to explore their most authentic selves.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a loner.

I enjoyed my own company and most times spent time alone reading, singing, and exploring my mind with the wildest of ideals. I began to throw myself into many creative endeavors, one of the first things being orchestra.

I still enjoy classical music and often do most of my editing to my favorite classical playlist. I enjoyed watching music videos and 90’s cartoons. Most of my editing style can be accredited to what I fell in love with as a child.
