Hi Tere, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After my career in the corporate/legal environment, I took time to regroup and make some changes in my life and my lifestyle.
I have always needed a creative outlet that, over time, has taken several directions – photography; videography; dabbling in music, and in visual art. After some time away from an office environment, I was able to pursue my creative outlets full time.
By combining videography with my additional interests in home entertaining; travel; interior decorating and fashion, it only seemed natural to develop YouTube’s “The Style Chase” channel in order to share ideas with my subscribers.
The creation of “The Style Chase” lifestyle channel has allowed me to encompass many creative elements.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth?-Not always. However, I wouldn’t say the struggles were insurmountable. Most struggles are not when you enjoy what you are doing. I wasn’t searching for a reason to avoid creating and producing videos.
When I run upon a hurdle, I can usually step back and research the possible solutions then keep trying until I am back on the right path.
You can apply that strategy to most areas of your life. While developing “The Style Chase,” most of my struggles came with my need to adapt to new photography equipment and with learning advanced editing processes.
Technology is constantly changing. By the way, even with its challenges, the editing of videos is my favorite part of the entire production process.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
“The Style Chase” is a YouTube channel that was created to entertain.
It gives viewers a peek inside a stranger’s life and, hopefully, the viewer is left with a new idea – maybe a new recipe; an interior decorating inspiration; thoughts of travel; fashion innovation, or creative home entertaining ideas.
There are numerous vloggers on YouTube, but there are few who present a bit of southernness.
What makes you happy?
That is an excellent question. We all want to be happy, but “happy” can not be a constant in your life.
I would say that I would much rather be “content.” The home and lifestyle I have created is a comfortable and peaceful oasis that brings me contentment.
