Meet Tia Prewitt of Bountiful Harvest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia Prewitt.

Hi Tia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My journey to Bountiful Harvest began at the age of 16 with my first job in the hospitality industry. Since then, every single employment opportunity I’ve had – 20+ years worth – has always been during the startup or restructuring of an organization, big or small.

This culminated with me finding my purpose in the classroom, teaching necessary skills in mathematics, and sliding in some of the other life lessons I was blessed to pick up along the way.

I was able to achieve level 5 status with my students but life was calling me to do more and share outside the four walls of my classroom.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The pandemic did not take kindly to my aspirations but wound up accelerating my process. The first shutdown happened just prior to my inaugural launch… But the wheels were already turning. So, we proceeded (*gulp*) virtually – to rave reviews!

Since then, I’ve left my 9 to 5 and had the mixed blessing to go full time as an entrepreneur, working from home while caring for my four children – Kingston, 14, Andy, 11, Zoë, 9, and Hunter, 1, along with my husband, Derique Cannon.

It hasn’t been easy and we’ve battled the anxiety and dark moments same as most, but have come out smarter, stronger, and better prepared for the journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Employing my background in business management and math education, Bountiful Harvest operates as a microenterprise consulting firm whose primary course is titled “Entrepreneurial Math: The Math You DO NEED in Real Life”.

Based on contextual pre-algebra and some lessons picked up at Harvard Business School Online’s CORE program, this course takes business concepts and boils them down to assist small business owners and hustlers of all degrees to make decisions rooted in math that will lead to increased profitability, regardless of industry. Hence our slogan, “We specialize in helping you make your passion profitable”.

Partnerships around the city (shout out to Le Pour Wine Tastings) have allowed us to co-host vending events for like-minded enterprises and patrons. As a result, the KINGDOMPRENEUR Pop Up Series now has a permanent home for monthly events every Second Saturday at LivIn Purpose Christian Church in Cordova, TN.

Bountiful Harvest also offers graphic design, event planning, and academic/professional tutoring. Financial education products and services are available through Primerica.

Additionally, my online health and wellness store, Hemp Lovers, offers “Liquid Lipo” weight loss supplements and premium CBD products via My Daily Choice.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
All the glory belongs to Jesus!

I also get endless support from my church family at The New Olivet Worship Center who, as The Preeminent Church for the Teaching of True Worship, have encouraged me and supported my business directly and indirectly through their Economic Empowerment Ministry and tons of ‘Olive Love’.

Next, I would like to lift up The 1000 Women (and Men) Movement, led by Candace Byrd Davis and Antonina L. Griffin. These documented seven-figure earners have taken me in and connected me with other leaders around the world to help us design a life we love while building solid and sustainable legacies through home-based business… and I’m grateful.

Last, but NEVER least, my husband, Derique, has been the cheerleader that I didn’t know I needed.
