Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashia Hardaway.
Hi Ashia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have 100 different stories I could tell.
The one that is most important to me is my creative work. I specialize in many things marketing, public relations, outreach, social media, professional development, modeling, and last but not least bartending.
I am so extremely grateful for a professional life that allows me to navigate marketing and outreach the way I feel most comfortable, but I am also an entrepreneur. My business is so precious to me, that I barely mention it.
What people don’t know they cannot ruin. But I am so grateful for this platform to highlight my work, professionally and creatively. I have a mobile bartending business that allows people to book me for all of their special events and it allows me to curate something special and unique for them and their events.
My bartending business belongs to me, the good, the bad, and the ugly are all mine. If something goes bad, I am the only person at fault and I appreciate that. Starting my bartending business has allowed me to grow as a woman and a business owner. One day, I hope to hire employees and let my hard work and dedication show for themselves.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has been everything but smooth. I have mostly encountered feeling discouraged, incompetent, and sometimes an indescribable and overwhelming feeling of failure.
Here’s a secret! Favorable results are not always immediate, push through the trial and error because it is so worth it in the end. I have continuously had to work through motivating myself and being productive, but through all of these unfortunate feelings, I will admit the good has always outweighed the bad.
The pleasurable feeling of accomplishment and competence makes me feel very powerful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am extremely proud of both my professional and creative growth. I think what sets me apart from others is how my day and nightlife are polar opposites, but I find a median and dominate them both each and every day.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being patient, having the ability to adjust, and organization has played a major role in being successful.
I will admit that I am not the most patient person, and I am still learning to grant myself grace when things do not work in my favor immediately. The ability to adapt to whatever situation happening in front of me, the good and the bad, has single-handedly changed my personal and professional life.
It is easier said than done, but it is one thing that you have complete control over, so if you are in a position that requires adapting, please be kind to yourself and your surroundings.
