Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Grinnell
Heather, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started in photography out of a love for documenting everything. It began as a child with a cheap film camera I’d drag everywhere I went. As a birthday gift my mom would develop my many rolls of film for me. Later, having children deepened that passion—I fell in love with capturing their everyday moments as a way to journal their growth and preserve those fleeting memories.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a relatively smooth road. My biggest struggle is having confidence in myself and my talent as a photographer. I’m my biggest critic.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a natural light family photographer. I take more of a documentary style approach to my sessions, capturing genuine moments and smiles. I love playing around with different lighting and shadows. I’m most proud of my work with families of children with special needs. Families with children who have different challenges can have a lot of anxiety going into a session but I keep it fun and light. No pressure to pose. Above all I want to make family photography affordable for all. There’s nothing I cherish more than hearing “these are our first family photos”.

- Mini Session: 20 mins $150 10 images
- Full Session: 1 hr $200 (Avg. 35 images)
- Events: $150/hr
- Weddings: $175/hr (minimum 4 hrs)
