Hi Bxrbie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kyla Plummer, but in the social media world, I go by Bxrbie Wxrld.
What started as a journey toward self-love and genuine connection has grown into a platform that impacts people both online and offline around the world. As a young girl, I struggled with very low self-esteem. Much of it stemmed from the projections and opinions of those around me, and over time, those words left a lasting mark on how I viewed myself. Carrying that weight became exhausting, so I made a decision to find something within myself that I could genuinely love, celebrate, and be proud of.
That journey led me to fashion and self-expression. I taught myself how to dress in a way that felt authentic and allowed me to stand out. I’ve always been drawn to vibrant colors, bold patterns, and unique pieces. As my confidence grew, people began to notice my style and often asked where I shopped or requested styling advice. For the first time, I felt empowered by something I had created for myself.
After receiving so many questions and requests, I decided to start a YouTube channel where girls who admired my style could watch honest reviews, styling videos, and see my creativity in real time. As my audience grew, I expanded onto TikTok and Instagram, creating spaces where women from all over the world could connect through shared experiences, confidence-building, and the courage to embrace their individuality.
The growth of my platform has been incredibly organic, and it has opened doors to opportunities I once only dreamed about. Most recently, I took a leap of faith and left my job to pursue modeling and content creation full-time. That decision was years in the making. In 2021, I made the difficult choice to leave college so I could work, support myself, and dedicate more time to building my brand and creating content.
After five years of consistency, I recently reached 100,000 followers on Instagram. While it’s a milestone I’m incredibly grateful for, it was never the ultimate goal. To me, it’s simply the beginning of a new chapter—one filled with even bigger dreams, greater impact, and endless possibilities.
Looking ahead, my goal is to establish myself as a high-end commercial model while continuing to grow as a content creator. I aspire to be featured in major brand campaigns, television advertisements, and music videos, bringing my creativity, personality, and unique sense of style to every project. I would love the opportunity to work with fashion and beauty brands around the world, whether through modeling, content creation, or creative collaborations that connect with diverse audiences. More than anything, I hope to continue inspiring others to embrace their individuality, step confidently into who they are, and understand that what makes them different is often their greatest strength.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has been anything but easy. Along the way, I’ve faced challenges that tested my strength, faith, and commitment to my dreams. If there’s one thing that defines my story, it’s my determination to stay true to my vision no matter the obstacles.
Throughout this journey, I experienced the grief of losing an active parent, the heartbreak of losing my closest friends, and the difficult transition into adulthood during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, all while navigating limited resources and uncertainty about the future. I chose a path that many people didn’t understand or believe in, which meant that the responsibility to make it work rested entirely on my shoulders.
I felt a deep drive to prove to myself that my dreams were possible, and I poured everything I had into making them a reality. I worked multiple jobs, delivered for Uber Eats, and even sold my clothes and purses to invest in the vision I had for my life and career. While the financial sacrifices were challenging, the emotional toll was equally difficult. Losing the few friends I had during an already overwhelming season left me feeling isolated and alone.
There was a period when I struggled mentally and stepped away from social media for nearly six months to focus on myself and regain clarity. Looking back, I am grateful for every obstacle, because each one shaped the person I am today and strengthened my belief in what I’m capable of achieving.
My ambition comes from understanding that there is no substitute for hard work and perseverance. I’ve learned to bet on myself, even when no one else could see the vision. Whether I have support or have to walk the journey alone, I remain committed to my goals and determined to see them through.

I am a fashion model and content creator who invites my audience behind the scenes of every step of my creative journey. While many people only see the final result, I believe the process is just as important as the outcome. That’s why I make it a priority to share the work that goes into bringing my ideas to life—from concept development and creative direction to the challenges, setbacks, pivots, and victories along the way.
For every photoshoot I’ve created and directed, I’ve brought my supporters along for the experience because I want them to witness the dedication, persistence, and creativity behind the finished product. Over the past five years, I have intentionally built a personal brand that is both authentic and unmistakably my own. In an increasingly saturated digital world, I’ve worked hard to create a presence that stands out while remaining true to who I am.
Throughout my journey, I have expanded into personal styling, commercial modeling, music video appearances, photoshoot production and creative direction, and event hosting opportunities that have continued to open new doors for me professionally. My audience knows me as a “The Real Bxrbie”—someone who embraces all things pink, feminine, and unapologetically creative. While inspiration can come from many places, I am known for adding my own unique perspective, putting fresh twists on ideas, and creating trends rather than simply following them.
What makes me most proud is that I have built a career and community that allows me to be fully myself while encouraging others to do the same. It’s still surreal to know that by simply sharing my journey, I’ve been able to inspire and impact so many people around the world who may be navigating similar challenges and discovering their own confidence along the way.
