Inspiring Conversations with Emma Cockerham of Infinity Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Cockerham.

Hi Emma, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Infinity Events was founded in 2015 by owner Emma Cockerham with one simple goal: to create celebrations that are as meaningful as they are beautifully executed. After beginning her career in the hospitality industry more than 15 years ago, Emma discovered that her true passion was walking alongside couples during one of the most important seasons of their lives. What started as a love for thoughtful planning has grown into one of the Mid-South’s premier wedding planning companies.

Today, Infinity Events specializes in weddings while also providing planning and design services for social celebrations and corporate events. Based in Memphis and serving clients nationwide, the company is known for its intentional planning process, elevated guest experiences, and commitment to excellence.

Education has always been a cornerstone of Infinity Events. Every planner on the team is a Certified Wedding Planner through the Certified Wedding Planner Society, and Emma has continued to pursue advanced credentials, earning the titles of Master Certified Wedding Planner, Certified Event Design Consultant, and Certified Educator. In addition to serving her own clients, Emma teaches and mentors wedding professionals across the country through the CWP Society, bringing the latest industry knowledge and best practices back to every Infinity Events client.

With a team of Certified Wedding Planners and a passion for creating timeless celebrations, Infinity Events is honored to serve couples in Memphis and destinations across the country, helping each client create an event that is personal, intentional, and unforgettable.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the greatest challenges of owning a business isn’t the long hours or the logistics—it’s learning to balance an exceptional level of service with healthy personal boundaries. As someone who genuinely loves people, Emma has always found deep fulfillment in the relationships she builds with both clients and fellow vendors. Like many wedding planners, she naturally leans toward being a people pleaser, making it difficult at times to say no, protect business hours, or step away when someone needs help.

Over the years, however, she has learned an important truth: you cannot pour from an empty cup. Providing an elevated client experience doesn’t require being available every moment of every day—it requires showing up as your very best self when your clients need you most. Prioritizing time with her family, protecting moments of rest, and maintaining healthy boundaries have ultimately made her a stronger leader, a more thoughtful planner, and a better advocate for the couples she serves. She believes that success isn’t measured by how much of yourself you give away, but by creating a business that allows you to serve others with excellence while still honoring the life you’ve worked so hard to build.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Infinity Events?
At Infinity Events, we believe exceptional weddings are never created by one person—they’re the result of an extraordinary team working toward a common goal. That’s why we place such a high value on cultivating genuine, professional relationships with our vendor partners. We strive to create an environment where every member of the creative team feels respected, informed, and empowered to do their very best work, because when vendors thrive, our clients benefit.

We are also known for our meticulous planning process. Our timelines are far more than a schedule—they are comprehensive roadmaps that anticipate every detail of the wedding day, ensuring each vendor understands their role, has the information they need, and sees how their piece fits into the larger picture. That level of preparation allows every creative partner to perform at their highest level, resulting in a seamless celebration and an exceptional experience for our clients.

Perhaps what we’re most proud of is the standard of excellence behind the Infinity Events name. Every planner on our team is a Certified Wedding Planner through the Certified Wedding Planner Society, and we are committed to continual education and professional growth. That investment in our team translates directly into an elevated client experience—one built on thoughtful communication, intentional planning, expert guidance, and unwavering attention to detail. At the end of the day, we don’t just want our clients to have a beautiful wedding; we want them to genuinely enjoy the journey of getting there.

What does success mean to you?
I define success in a few meaningful ways. First and foremost, success is seeing our couples fully present on their wedding day—joyful, relaxed, and able to truly experience the celebration they have dreamed of and planned for. When they can trust the details to us and simply be with their people, that feels like success.

I also feel immense pride when we help a couple create a wedding that is more than tables, chairs, and flowers. A truly beautiful wedding should be a reflection of who they are, what they value, and the story they are beginning together. When guests walk away saying, “That felt so much like them,” I know we have done our job well.

On a personal level, success also means building a career rooted in passion that still allows me to be the wife and mother I want to be. That balance—serving our clients with excellence while being present for my own family—is one of the greatest joys of my life.
