Today we’d like to introduce you to Eronecia Reddick.
Hi Eronecia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a love for music. It started as a kid, I would search YouTube beats and write music in my journal like I was Hannah Montana or Raven Symone. As a teen I formed a “girl group” with my best friends, but it fizzled out as we grew apart! I never would’ve thought a decade later I’d come back and take music seriously. I was always scared of what people would think. At my lowest last spring I decided to follow my dreams and here we are now.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The only challenge I face on the day to day is being a pop artist from Memphis TN.
You have an lottttt of bands in memphis doing their thing, there’s an avenue for singer/songwriters, and of course a lot of Memphis rappers have put us on the map. Then you have me, I don’t really have the same resources. I have a hard time fitting in events which prevents me from bookings most of the time. I’m having to outsource in different cities to find people to collab with. I’m just having a hard time finding my people but I know they’re out there because I’m here!
Other than that since I’ve discovered this is 100% my passion I haven’t found any struggle other than that just yet. I enjoy everything about being an artist… from the songwriting, world building, marketing, performing, wardrobe, recording, literally everything. I’m not looking for instant results, I’m simply having fun!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make dance/pop music inspired by 2000s music with a modern twist! I’m also a party girl so you’ve most likely seen me at your local bar or event! I like to think of myself as a socialite lol. I also am a YouTuber and officially a party thrower! I recently threw a party called MTVixxens 2000s party! I’m super proud of that party because it was my first party ever and it completely sold out!
YouTube has been a passion of mine since 2017 and I plan on continuing that through my music career.
Party throwing is just something that made sense to me, who better to throw a party than a party girl!? I plan to expand on that as well.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising about me is that I have a massive vintage collection of clothes/ novelty items! From vintage Betsey Johnson dresses down to my *NSYNC Puppet doll collection! I’ve been accumulating my collection of these things for the past 5 years. Some of it comes in handy with me being a pop star now. Where else would I wear all of my thrifted party dresses in Memphis? Now I have them for photo shoots and music videos!
