Hi Kenitra, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The Wright Event Planner started from my genuine love for bringing people together and creating memorable experiences. What began as a passion for helping others celebrate life’s special moments has grown into a business centered around organization, creativity, and exceptional service.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to plan and coordinate weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, and nonprofit events while building meaningful relationships with clients and vendors throughout the community.
Today, The Wright Event Planner continues to grow and evolve, including expanding into corporate and government contracting opportunities. Through every stage of the journey, my mission has remained the same: to take the stress out of planning so my clients can be fully present and enjoy the moments that matter most.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I’ve experienced challenges with balancing entrepreneurship and my personal life, and learning how to set boundaries while still providing exceptional service.
There have also been moments when I’ve had to pivot, learn from my mistakes, and simply trust the process. Each challenge has helped me become a stronger business owner, create better systems, and become more confident in the decisions I make for myself and my business.

As the owner of The Wright Event Planner, I specialize in wedding and event planning, coordination, and event logistics. I’m known for being organized, detail-oriented, and providing each client with a personalized approach. I take the time to understand their vision, needs, and expectations because no two clients or events are the same.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me during some of the most important moments of their lives. What sets me apart is my commitment to making each client feel heard, valued, and supported throughout the planning process. I believe great event planning goes beyond creating something beautiful, it’s about building relationships, being prepared, and creating a seamless experience from beginning to end.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe taking risks is a necessary part of growth, especially as an entrepreneur. One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was accepting and managing multiple events in one weekend. It required me to trust my team, my systems, and the processes I had worked hard to put in place.
It was definitely a challenge, but it also showed me what The Wright Event Planner was capable of handling. That experience taught me the importance of preparation, delegation, and having the right people around you. For me, taking risks isn’t about saying yes to everything; it’s about knowing when an opportunity can push you outside of your comfort zone and help you grow.
