Community Highlights: Meet LaToya Humphrey Humphrey of IVORAH and To Elevate Impact

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Humphrey Humphrey.

Hi LaToya Humphrey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My path has never followed just one lane. I’ve spent more than 20 years working in Information Technology, where I learned how to solve problems, manage complex projects, and stay steady when people are counting on me. At the same time, I’ve always been drawn to the way a home, a business, or an opportunity can change someone’s life.

That passion led me into real estate. Today, I’m a Licensed Realtor and Real Estate Investment Planner. I work with clients across residential and commercial properties, land, and new construction. I’m now stepping into the real estate development sector, bringing together my experience in real estate, project management, and design to help shape what comes next for our communities. I especially enjoy bringing the right people together and helping them see what’s possible beyond what’s already in front of them.

I’m also the founder of To Elevate Impact, a nonprofit focused on education, healthcare, and affordable homes, and a co-owner of IVORAH, where I’m expanding my work in design, construction, and renovations. Each chapter has built on the one before it. What tethers them altogether is my desire to create opportunities, build meaningful relationships, and leave something better than I found it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Building a career in IT while growing in real estate, launching a nonprofit, and stepping into new ventures has required me to manage competing demands on my time and energy. There have been opportunities that took longer than I hoped, plans that changed, and moments when I had to keep going without knowing exactly how things would work out.

One of the biggest lessons has been learning to trust my vision while remaining willing to adjust the plan. Those challenges have made me more patient, more resourceful, and more intentional about the opportunities I pursue.

Starting To Elevate Impact brought a different kind of challenge. It’s one thing to care deeply about education, healthcare, and affordable homes; it’s another to turn that passion into programs, partnerships, and resources that can truly help people. I’ve learned to ask for support, be patient with the process, and celebrate progress even when it comes in smaller steps than I imagined.

My faith has helped me through the uncertain moments. So have the people who believed in me and the reminder that there are people watching how I respond when things get difficult. I’m still learning and growing. The road hasn’t been easy, but it has taught me to be resilient, resourceful, and clear about why I started.

I’m still growing, but I’m proud that I’ve kept moving forward. Every challenge has taught me something I can carry into the next chapter.

As you know, we’re big fans of IVORAH and To Elevate Impact. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m a licensed Realtor, co-owner of IVORAH, and founder of To Elevate Impact. My work in real estate includes residential and commercial properties, land, and new construction. I enjoy helping clients recognize a property’s potential, whether they’re looking for a home, opening a business, or planning what to build next. I’m now stepping into real estate development, which gives me an opportunity to be part of that vision from an earlier stage.

IVORAH is a real estate and interior design company that helps people bring their ideas to life. We offer design inspiration, room visualization, and professional consultations, with a focus on new construction and renovations. We also help clients and contractors source materials for custom spaces, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and millwork.

We are currently in the planning and engineering phase of developing a luxury residential community on 14 acres in Collierville, Tennessee. This represents an exciting step into real estate development, bringing together our passion for exceptional homes, thoughtful design, and purposeful living.

For two luxury homes of approximately 10,000 square feet each, with a shared common area that includes an infinity pool and tennis court, a preliminary development budget could range from approximately $8 million to $14 million or more, depending on architectural details, finishes, and site requirements. This estimate excludes land acquisition and infrastructure for the broader 14-acre community and would be refined through engineering and contractor bids.
What excites me most is building luxury custom homes with the decisions to selecting materials to shaping an entire community.

That same belief in possibility is why I founded To Elevate Impact. Our mission centers on education, healthcare, and affordable homes. Through events, partnerships, and community outreach, I’m working to connect people with resources and opportunities that can make a meaningful difference.

I want readers to know that these parts of my work share one purpose: helping people imagine more for themselves and their communities, then taking practical steps to make it happen.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
That’s a hard one because I have so many favorite childhood memories. When I think back, what stands out most isn’t just one day or one event; it’s the people, the laughter, and the moments that made me feel loved and supported.

Those memories remind me how much it means to have people who show up for you and make you feel that you belong. I carry that with me today in the way I build relationships through my work. If I had to choose a favorite, I’d say it’s the collection of those moments rather than just one.
