Conversations with Sunshyne Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunshyne Taylor.

Hi Sunshyne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Professionally, I am a creative entrepreneur and the founder of Pink Tiger Craftbar, a small creative studio and mobile experience where creativity and connection come together. What started with my love for crafting and designing has evolved into something much more meaningful—creating spaces where women can step away from their everyday responsibilities, try something new, connect with others, and simply enjoy being creative.

At Pink Tiger Craftbar, I host intimate DIY experiences, private parties, open craft nights, journal experiences, and collaborations with other creatives. One of the things I’m most excited about is continuing to develop my Journal Bar, an interactive experience where guests choose a journal, select a focal design, add embellishments, and make it completely their own. I’m also expanding the concept beyond the studio through pop-ups, private events, and curated journal products.

But the thread running through everything I do is connection. I love creating the experience just as much as I love creating the product. Whether I’m designing something for a client, teaching a craft, hosting women in the studio, or helping bring local entrepreneurs together, I’ve realized that my purpose lives somewhere at the intersection of creativity, connection, and helping other people bring their ideas to life.

What makes this season especially exciting is that I’m allowing myself to explore what that purpose can become. I’m building Pink Tiger Craftbar, growing my creative offerings, collaborating with other women, and creating more opportunities for people to gather intentionally. I don’t feel like I have to have every part of the journey figured out anymore. I’m learning to trust what keeps showing up: creativity, community, and connection. Those are the things that continue to lead me forward.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! My journey has been anything but a straight road. Like many women, I spent years balancing a full-time career, marriage, motherhood, and everyone else’s needs while quietly trying to figure out where my own dreams and purpose fit into the picture.

One of my biggest challenges has been learning to make room for myself without feeling guilty about it. For years, I was so accustomed to being the dependable one, the planner, the problem solver, and the person who made things happen for everyone else. Somewhere along the way, I realized I needed to put that same energy into myself.

Entrepreneurship has brought its own challenges. I’ve invested time, money, and energy into ideas that didn’t always produce the results I expected. I’ve experienced disappointing events, slow sales, self-doubt, and moments when I questioned whether I was moving in the right direction. I’ve had to learn that being passionate about something doesn’t automatically make it successful. It takes consistency, flexibility, patience, and a willingness to make adjustments.

I’ve also learned that starting something new later in life comes with its own set of challenges. You’re balancing the responsibilities you’ve already built while trying to create something entirely different for yourself. But I’ve stopped looking at my age as a limitation. If anything, my life experiences have given me the confidence to take chances I might not have taken years ago.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that the road doesn’t have to be smooth to be meaningful. Some of my greatest moments of growth have come from things that didn’t go according to plan. I’m still learning, still adjusting, and still figuring some things out. But I’m also finally giving myself permission to pursue the things that make me happy.

My journey hasn’t been about having it all figured out. It’s been about refusing to stop discovering what I’m capable of.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a creative entrepreneur, founder of Boss Divas Creative Designs and Pink Tiger Craftbar, and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing people, ideas, and opportunities together.

Through Boss Divas Creative Designs, I specialize in creative branding, marketing materials, custom products, and helping entrepreneurs bring their visions to life. What I enjoy most is taking someone’s scattered ideas and turning them into something they can actually see, use, and feel proud of. I’ve always had a knack for turning chaos into clarity, whether that’s through design, planning, or simply helping someone organize their vision.

Pink Tiger Craftbar is an extension of that creativity, but with a greater focus on experiences and connection. It’s a creative wellness space where adults can step away from their everyday responsibilities, explore their creativity, laugh, relax, and connect with others. We offer DIY workshops, journal experiences, paint projects, private gatherings, and opportunities for other creatives to share their talents.

What I’m most proud of isn’t necessarily a product I’ve made or an event I’ve hosted. It’s the fact that I’ve continued to create opportunities for myself while also creating spaces and opportunities for others. There’s something special about watching women walk into a room as strangers and leave exchanging phone numbers, sharing ideas, or making plans to collaborate. Those moments remind me that what I’m building is bigger than crafting.

I think what sets me apart is that I’m not interested in just selling a product or filling seats at an event. I’m interested in the experience people have and the connections they make along the way. I bring a combination of creativity, organization, humor, and genuine enthusiasm for helping people bring their ideas to life.

I’m still growing, learning, and figuring out what this next chapter looks like, but one thing has become clear: **creativity is what I do, but connecting people is what gives it purpose.**

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to choose yourself.

For much of my life, I measured my success by how well I showed up for everyone else. Being a good wife, mother, employee, and the person everyone could depend on became such a big part of who I was that I sometimes forgot to ask myself what I wanted.

I’ve learned that you can love your family, be dedicated to your career, support others, and still have dreams that belong to you. Pursuing those dreams isn’t selfish. It’s necessary.

I’ve also learned to stop waiting for the perfect time, the perfect plan, or everyone’s approval. Life doesn’t always give you a clear roadmap, and sometimes the things you try won’t work out. That’s okay. You adjust, you learn, and you keep going.

At this stage of my life, I’m learning to enjoy the journey instead of constantly chasing the next accomplishment. I’m giving myself permission to change my mind, explore new interests, make mistakes, and redefine what success looks like for me.

**The biggest lesson? You don’t have to remain the person you’ve always been just because that’s who everyone is accustomed to you being. You’re allowed to grow, reinvent yourself, and create a life that feels good to you, too.**
