Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Schwaigert. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Brittany Schwaigert has over 20 years of experience in the large-scale event industry, coordinating events and also managing event facilities. In 2009, she launched GreyGrey Designs, her event planning business. With a degree in Art History, she brings an eye for details and aesthetics to every party she styles.
Brittany’s work has been featured on several popular event designs and entertaining websites, such as Hostess With The Mostess, iVillage, BuzzFeed, Momtastic, Parade Magazine, Evite, LilSugar, and Today. She has also been featured in the print editions of Sandra Lee Magazine, Working Mother Magazine, Women’s World, and Mingle Magazine.
From 2013-2015, she worked as an editorial stylist at Birthday Express. From 2016-2019 she was a stylist in residence for Shindigz. In 2020, she launched Pop Culture Memphis, dedicated to providing Memphis with artistic balloon installations.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building my own business has been a learning curve. We launched pre-pandemic doing large-scale events and the pandemic forced us to pivot to smaller “porch parties” for most of 2020. But, that also launched our business to a new customer base and really projected us onto another level in terms of the scale of business and visibility.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a balloon installation business. We specialize in everything from helium bouquet delivery to giant balloon installations on the sides of massive buildings. We are known for our eye for detail and creativity.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think starting your own business is always a risk. But, you have to go for it. It is often scary, but it’s so rewarding too!
