Shatonda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, I’m a mother of three beautiful girls and it all started with me buying a pretty costly camera to capture moments of my children. I couldn’t afford to pay a photographer for every milestone in my life, so I took it upon myself to make sure I can snap those unforgettable stages of my kid’s lives.
Of course, as a full-time career woman, photography was a hobby for me. I LOVED everything about taking pictures for families and creating those everlasting memories. So I kept thinking, what can I do to capitalize on my love of photography? That’s when I received my light bulb moment. Why not invest in a Mirror Selfie Photobooth Business and a 360 Video Booth business? I knew that it would put me in a position to meet new people, go to new places and it’s a low-pressure approach for families to enjoy each other at events such as weddings, baby showers, corporate events, and more.
That is how Eye C U Photography got started. The name basically represents, I see you creating memories, I see you enjoying this moment and I see you Loving this moment. That is what photography is all about taking those moments of love, happiness and freezing your emotions at that time. I am super excited for what the business is bringing to my area and what my mission stands for. It is more than pictures, Eye C U represents love and togetherness.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with anything, there is always a dream or a vision that gives us what I call an “adrenaline rush”. But reality sets in really quickly to let you know that Success is not overnight. It definitely takes a lot of thought processes, planning, and sleepless nights. A few things that I had to learn when starting Eye C U Mirror Selfie Photobooth Rental is that you have to INVEST in your product/business.
There will be some losses and there will be some gains, but make sure to POUR back into your business. Another struggle I had was getting family and friends to see my vision and to even support me. But, on the plus side, the customers that I have met have been mind-blowing. My clients start out as strangers, but you have to build a relationship with your clients, and the stories they share make you feel like part of the family.
The struggle is out there, but Eye C U Photography believes 100% percent in our purpose. If we don’t believe in what we provide, how can we get anyone else to believe in us? Just remember to any struggling entrepreneur, Don’t Give Up! Remain Humble! Remain Sincere!

Eye C U Photography makes me happy. The bonds and the everlasting friendships that I am able to create and build with my clients are wonderful. It starts with the initial consultation and then our first encounter at the event, I already feel that I am part of the family. I am very grateful for this moment and this chapter in my life. I know I can only go up from here.
