Today we’d like to introduce you to Diara White.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Diara White. I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. I attended White Station High School and Lemoyne Owen College with a Bachelor’s in Science. I come from a loving God-fearing home where my parent’s Pastors Derek & Tara Clark were married 40 years. I have had a pretty good life and I’m so thankful.
Here is my story. As mentioned my life has been amazing. However, trials will come to distract you from what God has for you. Well, 2017 was the year that my life completely changed. Do you know how we are supposed to listen to the voice of God? Yeah, I did the opposite. I got married at the age of 33 (2014) and that was not in God’s plan for me. 2017 it ended in divorce. Oh boy, here comes the destruction of Diara. But God.
Well, after the divorce, I felt like I was nobody. I felt as though God left me. I felt ugly, nobody loved me. I even gained 60 lbs. I stopped going to church and I lost myself. I even turned to a substance called alcohol. I thought that would ease my pain. However, it was the worse thing I could’ve done. Because of my unhappiness and depression, I would drink myself silly. I would be hungover all the time and just going down a destructive tunnel.
When I tell you God was still with me during this time, I tend to get teary-eyed. 2018, I made the decision that I couldn’t do this anymore. I wanted to find myself and I wanted to find love again. I begin praying that God would send me someone who truly loved me. Well, on November 4, 2018, that prayer was answered. I met the love of my life Clinton White Jr. He knew after 3 weeks of dating, that I would be his wife. After dating for 8 months, we got married on July 30, 2019, in my parent’s living room. We thought we were about to travel the world. God had something else in store for us.
On September 20, 2019, we had our wedding celebration. I felt quite funny for a few days. So that day, yes the same day as our celebration, I took a pregnancy test. Guess what, I was POSITIVE. How on earth did that happen lol. I wasn’t supposed to have children because I have 4 large fibroids. The doctors told me that it would be hard for me to get pregnant, I wouldn’t carry full term or I would miscarry. But God. After a very difficult pregnancy, we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy on May 6, 2020, Prince Alexander White. God had answered my prayers bringing my love and a baby.
During the time my husband and I were dating, I was working for a company here in Memphis, Tennessee. I worked there for 10 years. In the last two years 2018-2020, I received a promotion within another department. In that department, I was stressed out all of the time. I was consistently threatened to lose my job. It got so bad that I almost lost my baby while pregnant after a heated conversation with my boss. I told God that I needed something else because I could not work under those conditions.
As I mentioned in May of 2020, I went on maternity leave and had our baby. During that time, I was looking for other employment. I continued to pray and ask God for something to work from home so I won’t have to go back to that stressful job. I also wanted to be at home with my son. God brought a wonderful opportunity the way that I will share later.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been smooth. Some days are better than others. I told you about my depression. Let’s speak on this next challenge. My business was increasing. Life was going great. August 2021 was a scary time for my family. My husband and I contracted Covid-19. It did not affect me as it did my husband. My husband almost died. But God.
While having Covid, I nursed my husband back to health and we thought life would be even better. We were faced with another challenge that was unthinkable. We lost my father Pastor Derek Clark on October 29, 2021. My world was crushed. My motivation was gone. My father died. I couldn’t believe it. I even considered quitting my business. I’m so thankful for my mom, Tara Clark who encouraged me to continue because my father was so proud of me.
Life is definitely different now, however, I’m determined to continue to make my father proud. In spite of all the trials I have been through, God has always made a way and has helped me through. This new life without my father is different. However, I know have an angel watching over me, and that gives me so much comfort.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an independent consultant with Paparazzi Accessories. I sell confidence and beauty for $5 at a time. Here’s is how it all started. On September 9, 2020, I saw a post from a college colleague about how much she made from selling $5 jewelry from Paparazzi Accessories. I was intrigued. I immediately reached out and joined two days later.
I became an Independent Consultant with Paparazzi Accessories. That was the start of my business, Pretty White Jewels. I hit the ground running. I did so well that I started considering leaving my stressful job. My husband told me that he felt as though I could do the business full time. I was scared to leave my job. However, I thought about all the stress that I dealt with. I was newly married to a newborn and I didn’t need that stress in my life.
On December 15, 2020, I was able to leave my stressful job to work my business full time. God answered my prayer by giving me something to work from home. In January, my business took off and I begin to grow a team. God was doing the dawg gone thing.
Since working on my business, here are some of my accomplishments and what I am proud of. I have been able to work from home and be with my son making more than I did working a stressful job. I have been able to purchase a brand new 2021 vehicle and pay two major credit cards off so far. Because my team is so awesome, we have reached the rank of Producer which is the top 1% of the company.
I have 82 phenomenal bosses on my team and out of those, I brought in 41 business partners. I am one of my team’s top recruiters. I am so thankful I said yes to this opportunity. It has definitely changed my life. What sets me apart is my drive not to quit in spite of what life throws at me. I may be down for a moment, however, when I get back up, I will be stronger and go harder than ever.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was playing games with my father. He use to play family feud with us. Boy, do I wish we could play Family Feud again.
