Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariale González Ruvalcaba.
Mariale, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got married in 2017 since I have a major in Marketing and I used to work in advertising agencies for more than 10 years. I thought that I could do my entire wedding by myself without any professional help. But I was very wrong. I realized that getting married and organizing your own wedding are two different things.
So, the entire process I keep a record of how I felt and the things I know thanks to my profession that I realized that is wrong in the wedding planning industry. My wedding day was perfect and the best of our life but I sure learn a lot and I felt the need to share it with the world.
In February 2019, I start my project BODA SOS (S.O.S. Wedding) started as a podcast, and now you can find it on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. I have interviewed wedding planning professionals and health professionals and we talk about all the things a couple must be prepared for this big step in their lives.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I have a digital project it’s so challenging because I think we are used to having compensations in our school and in our jobs, if you do something good you can tell the result right away. But with digital projects patient is the key. And sometimes for me being patient is something that I need to work on every day. So definitely it has been lots of ups and downs.
Another important thing to mention is that even I do my research and I have a university career I speak mostly through my experience and confront people who do not agree with my point of view just because weddings are so different in every part of the world can become an extreme challenge.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My University Degree is in Marketing and Advertising. I specialize in commercials, fashion magazines, and wedding planning production. Now, I’m fully living thanks to my social media development where I help brides and grooms to enjoy their wedding with tips and tricks.
I’m so proud so BODAS SOS (SOS WEDDING) because at first, I thought no one is going to listen but 3 years later, I have 105k listeners on Spotify/ 126k followers on TikTok and 12k followers on IG. And now, I can say I live my childhood dream.
What are your plans for the future?
I kept growing in all the social media apps, get in touch with different people in the wedding industry around the world. And in a couple of years have my own place where I can do weddings and a wedding dress boutique. Along with more products for brides and grooms.
