Community Highlights: Meet Rashana Bond of ShoBo’s Kitchen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rashana Bond.

Hi Rashana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Starting as a kid, I would always find a way to hustle. I’ve done the lemonade stand and cookies. When I got a little older, I remember making homemade cards out of wide-ruled paper for lawn care services. A few people would allow my friend and me to cut their grass. I thought $10.00 was big money at that age.

As I got older, I sold candy in high school. I’ve always had a passion for cooking. I hosted cookouts and BBQ, from there, I was able to sell plates. I eventually got a food truck in August of 2020. Which was one of the greatest blessings of my life, all praise to the highest! The first food truck was a 1980 Chevy Step Van. It definitely taught me to have thick skin, my sister always told me owning my own business had no room for sensitivity lol. Blood, sweat, and tears were put into this past year in a half.

I remember breaking down on the side of the road down to the electricity blowing, even the generator hanging off and dragging on the back down the road. Definitely showed me why we never give up because the tables always turn. I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. We’re now operating out of a brand new food trailer in Fort Smith, AR.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
A smooth road definitely isn’t the word! But they say, “a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor”. Being fresh in the food truck industry there we a lot of things I had to figure out on my own. I wouldn’t trade any of the struggles we had, adversity is a virtue!

As you know, we’re big fans of ShoBo’s Kitchen. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a mobile food truck. We specialize in homemade dishes our Chicken Alfredo is our top seller. We take pride in the quality, presentation, as well as customer service. I think the customer service alone sets us apart. We offer catering services, weddings all the way to private chef events.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I’m blessed to have a very supportive team. My family first and foremost. My mom and father, my papaw (who is my heart), my sister (who is one of my biggest inspirations), my brother (who is one of my best friends), my nephew (we used to talk about our dreams together) aunties, cousins, and niece.

A very dear friend of mine from (Cheesecake on Point!). Having support is essential to success!
