Conversations with Alexandria Quinn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Quinn.

Hi Alexandria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Making skincare products originally started as a fun hobby for me. My brother and I used to struggle with dark spots and acne scars, so I decided to research some homemade remedies to clear them up. After trial and error, I made my first successful face mask that cleared up all of our dark spots.

After that, I moved on to making sugar scrubs and lip scrubs. Once I realized these were showing real results, I decided to turn my favorite hobby into a small business. I officially launched Quinn’s Creations at the height of COVID in June 2020. Two years later, my small business has become more successful than I ever imagined.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My business journey has definitely been a bumpy road. I like to say it’s like a roller coaster, you have your ups and your downs.

Starting a business during COVID was helpful, but also very challenging. I was out of work and didn’t have a lot of income to help jumpstart my business. There were also a lot of delays with shipping and ordering the necessary items for each product.

The main challenge that I face is the up and down days with sales. I have some weeks where I have 5-10 orders that need to be processed and shipped, and then there are weeks where I have no sales at all. It gets discouraging but I use that slow period as my motivation to work harder on marketing and sales.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am currently a Physical Therapy Tech. My dream is to work in Sports Medicine and become a therapist for a pro football team. As far as Quinn’s Creations, I am known for making my handmade whipped body butters.

The body butters are my best sellers and my absolute favorite to make. I am extremely proud of myself for continuing to push towards my dreams and goals with my career and my business. This journey has not been easy but it has taught me how to manage stressful situations without shutting down.

I think what sets me apart from others is my desire to help people in any circumstance. Whether it is with physical therapy or helping people achieve their skin care goals, I put 100% effort into making sure my customers and patients are satisfied.

What were you like growing up?
I have always been a bubbly, outgoing person. I always have a smile on my face and I love spreading positive energy and happiness to people around me. I loved playing outside with my older brother and friends from my neighborhood.

I grew up around sports, mainly football, which is the reason why I am a huge football fan. Being around football for most of my life also made me want to work in Sports Medicine.
