Check Out 223 Youngan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to 223 Youngan.

Hi Youngan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
If you follow me on Instagram (@223youngan), I started rapping around June 2019. One of my classmates named, Vincent (@lo843ymd), that was a producer/artist way before I started rapping was always in class with his laptop making beats, and one day, I thought all of these rappers that are becoming rich and famous for their talent of rap, why not give it a try too?

I began writing songs in class to beats Vincent had recently made, and he told me I should start recording them. I wrote my first song titled “Murder She Wrote (Remix),“ a Tay K. Remix. I started recording on my phone on an app called “Bandlab.” Ever since I dropped my first song, my music has gotten better… watch me go up on my social media with my fans (@223youngan).

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t a smooth road I’ve wanted to quit several times before, but I lost a couple of my loved ones that motivated me to do it for them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an upcoming versatile rapper/artist straight out of 223/252/Drewry, NC. I’ve made a couple of beats before but I mostly rap and engineer my own songs. I am currently not signed to a label; I am my own manager. I am known for going viral on Instagram and for my talent of rapping.

I am most proud of myself and the ones who stayed down through the tough times when I didn’t believe in myself. I’m also proud that I’ve produced almost 200k streams in just 2 years as an independent artist, no one teaching me how to record or teach me the ropes of how to get known as a rapper.

Most people didn’t want to help because of how I sounded when I first started. I believe what sets me apart from others is my work ethic, how if I want to accomplish something, I won’t stop till I do, and how I rap overall. Honestly, I believe I get better with every song.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see myself as a full-time industry rapper. Right now, I still work a 9-5 job to help my rap career, but by the way, I’m growing and my fan base is growing by the second, one day, I honestly believe I will be a legend in my city and a well-known rapper worldwide real soon.
