Today we’d like to introduce you to Breianna Bass.
Hi Breianna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My dream of becoming a chef started at the tender age of just 10 years old. I have always loved the food, especially growing up in a city with THE BEST food! But, as I became a preteen I started to watch food networks with a liking to Rachel Ray, Paula Deen, Bobby Flay, and so on.
I was so fascinated by how they made food look so colorful and pretty it changed my dreams of becoming a teacher to wanting to see my face on the food network. Years go by and I finally started the process of following my dream by enrolling into Le’Cole Culinaire program where I would graduate and start to work with some of the best local chefs in the city of Memphis.
I eventually started my own business that is now Chef Bre Bass, where we are a Private Chef company that specializes in private chef services for families and intimate events. We also started our own seasoning line at the end of 2021 called simply bold seasoning which has sold over 120 bottles!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The ride had been bumpy along the way from trying to stand out in a crowded room, how to set up a business, being a mother, wife and trying to find my own balance. But without the bumps we cant appreciate the days that are smooth and the people that do support us.
Also, going back to the drawing board with recipes, clients who weren’t happy are all a part of the business, but how you handle it lasts a lifetime because it’s all lessons to make you better at what you do.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a private chef who specializes in catering to people who enjoy intimate experiences. When I first started my business I was known for my mini cheesecakes. I mean people called me like I had them sitting at a shop to purchase. I made all the flavors from original, sweet potato, red velvet, peach cobbler, and so on.
Once I grew our pasta became a fan favorite. What sets me apart is that I enjoy intimate experiences. My clients love to learn as they watch me cook and eat and for me that is an experience that will last forever because when they cook they will always remember what I taught them.
So for me that sets me apart from others because it’s not just a job it’s a learnable experience for everybody.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
God, Dedication, being authentic, waking up loving what you do, making people feel special, and having fun!
