Conversations with Jiggy Mcfly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jiggy Mcfly.

Jiggy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Music has been a big part of my life since an early age. From background music in video games & cartoons to sneaking & listening to my mom’s RnB cassettes & my older brothers’ rap CDs. The older I got of course my interest in the aspects of creating music became more of a driving force in my life as well as my passion & my muse.

So at 14, I picked up a pen & never looked back. Through every stage & season in my life since that day music has always been a constant rhythm along with every page. Fast forward to now as a recording artist/singer-songwriter-rapper/recording engineer, producer, every detail of those pages outlines the intricacies of how my mind thinks, processes, analyzes & outputs thought and emotion.

This is how I express, how I release, and how I add value back into the world. Growing these things along with me day by day & allowing them to make room in life for me will always afford favor in becoming the best version of self available & that is my genuine life’s pursuit. The journey is beyond the finish line.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been far from a smooth road but it has been the best pursuit of personal legend I could ever ask for.

I’ve always been the “different” guy so to speak I guess in comparison to where I come from so there wasn’t really a lane for the type of music I heard in my head & wanted to make nor did I have the resources at the time but, I was always diligent in my persistence & believing that if you really wanted something & were willing to work towards it, nothing in this life is out of reach.

So I had to put more muscle to my hustle, took a lot of rejection, MANY no’s & closed doors in my face, backs turned, dirt thrown on my name, sleepless nights, nights sleeping in my car, being down to my last dollars and spending it on plug-ins for Pro-Tools, there’s been a lot of unseen pain & pride swallowed as well as sacrifices made & losses taken just to keep pushing towards everything I believe in & stand on.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Publicly I am known as a singer-songwriter-rapper, recording & mixing engineer, community outreach organizer and, apparel designer. Also known for brands/affiliations such as (but not limited to); TreeHouse Sound, TreeHouseFest, The Go-Givers Initiative, & J I G G Y WEAR.

Things that afford me the opportunity to create & contribute I feel are my means of always being able to connect with the people who you are called to be of service to & those who are meant to be of service to you in your lifetime. Inspiration comes in so many forms & always aspire to inspire through the work of my hands & not just my words. Being a contributor to change gives me an incomparable sense of peace so I always choose to let that light guide me.

The Go-Givers Initiative is an outreach collective founded by TreeHouse Sound, Smash bros. Beats & Recycle Peace whose mission is to serve & give back to individuals & community around us. We organize various community-based events to foster creating opportunities for us to provide food & clothing for the homeless as well as sponsor children throughout the school year & families for the holidays.

Events like TreeHouseFest & giveaways sponsored by J I G G Y WEAR are also avenues that I use to generate funding & resources for additional community engagement projects of the Go-Givers Initiative.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as the completion of the pursuit of your personal legend & the mastery of self. Everything else is just really dope details along the way.
