Rising Stars: Meet Carter Lofton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carter Lofton.

Carter, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Memphis, TN, and I have always been a music lover. Growing up was different for me than that of an average kid in my living area. I went to a well-privileged school, so most of the kids had a good financial situation.

I on the other hand started working as soon as I was able to; my reason for working so early was so that I could help my mother out at home. It was around the start of high school for me, that I started liking modeling and music.

My entire purpose for doing music is so that I can be the light for those that are struggling in life. So to make a long story short, I started singing and modeling in hopes of being able to help people.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Time has changed quite fast. I think there have definitely been struggles during this journey, and I’m sure there will be plenty more. When aspiring to be a music artist you face the world, especially if you are trying to become the best.

I have failed many times during this journey. I’ve embarrassed myself in front of judges, teachers, friends, choir directors, and many more people. There was this one college I was trying to get into named Berklee College of Music, and I was rejected. After three years of hard work, I was rejected from them, and my backup school.

These are all just the struggles I have been going through when it comes to music. I will admit there are a lot of glorious moments during this journey in life, but I remember the bad times for growth.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m mainly known for my music, but as of recently, I have been making a scene on the fashion side. My main focus is the music of course; I make beats and I sing. I have a couple of beats out to the public by the name of Carter Lofton, just look me up and have a listen.

The thing I’m proud of the most has to be my growth. When striving to become the best version of yourself, you start to appreciate where you came from. What sets me apart from the rest is a question I don’t ask myself often; I just know I’m different.

If I had to choose what makes me different, it would be my motivation to become the best entertainer in the music industry. I’m not going to tell you what I specialize in. You will just have to watch me on my journey, so you can decide that for yourself.

What’s next?
I have big and small plans for the future. I would like to start releasing some actual songs rather than beats, but I’m working at my own pace. I would like to say I look forward to having my own concert someday.
