Today we’d like to introduce you to Pastors Devin & Samantha Westbrook.
Hi Devin & Samantha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We met at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. James L. Netters, Sr., over 30 years ago. Never in a million years would we have guessed that we would not only get married but launch a church and become partners in purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth ride but we believe that oftentimes what crushes you is the very thing that you’re called to. We started Redemption Church with NO money, No members, No mentorship, and NO momentum.
All we knew was that God told us to GO. We’ve learned to lead out of our marriage and pour into as many people as God assigns us.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are known for being one of the most dope & doctrinal couples in this region.
As church planters, our worship service is explosive and transformative. We are firm believers that one doesn’t have to be this or that you can be this AND that. We are pastors, educators, publishers (Westbrook Media & Publishing), entrepreneurs, and creators of Marriage Maintenance as we believe that you can’t sustain what you rarely maintain.
As “People Pastors,” we are known for being relational and transparent. Many come to us/Redemption Church who was completely done with church. Through the redeeming power of God, we help them become spiritually connected and equip them to be successful in every area of their lives.
Pastor Devin is the Lead Pastor of Redemption Church 340 S. Second St., professor of, The Art of Preaching Master Class, two-time author of Hold Your Applause: The Art of Focusing on the Assignment/God will meet you in the Go (www.devinwestbrook.org), certified life coach, and mentor to many.
Pastor Samantha serves as Executive Pastor and First Lady. She is also a licensed real estate agent, educator, and certified life coach. Together they conduct, Pre-Marital Maintenace, Marriage Maintenace, and Ministry Maintenance where they discuss everything from the bedroom to the bank account.

We are the founders of Redemption’s Operation Memphis – a community-based initiative with the aim of uplifting the entire city. It includes five pillars: Outreach, Education, Business, The Local Church, and Community Safety.
