Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Clay Hill.
Hi Natasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, grateful for this interview. First, I am the Founder/CEO of Ova Flow Productions. Our mission is to embrace the hurts of humanity by ministering the message of hope, healing, restoration, joy, and peace by way of using entertainment. Personally, I feel like my story is special. My grandmother, Ms. Hattie Mae Eckwood was a gifted writer.
She spoke well at speaking engagements and gave words of wisdom and encouragement to many. I am thankful to God that He gave me the same type of gift He gave to my grandmother, the gift of storytelling.
I am inspired to write message-driven stage productions that bring emotional and social healing to individuals that have experienced hardships in life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been an obstacle to connect with more sponsors that connect wholeheartedly with the vision and see the purpose and value in what we do.
I absolutely love directing and producing stage plays but it does come with some challenges. Along with myself most of the actors, musicians, and stage production assistants work full-time jobs and have family responsibilities. That makes it difficult to have fully attended rehearsals prior to the performance.
Thankfully most of the actors are experienced and committed to their performance, which allows them to connect with the vision and help bring to life the intended messages. Another challenge is financing. I am confident that when we get the full sponsorship that is needed, OFP will go to the next level. It can be a hardship to produce stellar production, but I am extremely grateful for my family and some friends that have sown seeds into my dreams and have been a tremendous blessing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Ova Flow Productions is a Christian Theatrical Production Company that prides itself on integrity and is committed to producing thought-provoking plays that are relatable and inspirational with real-life messages.
I have written, directed, and produced four major stage productions including, Full Circle, Uncover Church Folks, The Cover-Up, and When No One Is Listening. Each play has received rave reviews but the most powerful thing about them is that lives are being changed and transformed.
I am committed to the social responsibility that comes with what I do. As I continue to write by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. My obedience to God is on full display as I live a life of service.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a good student that loved to color and was amazed by seeing how colors lit up the room. I thought that I was going to be an interior decorator, but I had a teacher that saw something else in me. I can remember when I was introduced to acting. I was attending Fairley Elementary in Memphis Tennessee.
My sixth-grade teacher Mary Patterson was responsible for showing me the possibilities of acting. I was allowed to narrate a skit that our class performed at a program. That is when I fell in love with the stage. I later learned that I loved writing and coordinating. I find it very fulfilling to manage a project and see it through from the smallest details to the larger one. So, you can say that the younger me was full of life, imagination, and hope. Not to mention that I even played basketball. In all, my childhood helped birth many parts of who I am now and what I do to help transform lives. My childhood can best be described as foundational. God makes no mistakes.
