Today we’d like to introduce you to DaMarcus Knox.
Hi DaMarcus, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got started when my sister Nakia Henderson told me “All you do is wash cars every day yours, dad, ours” you should start a business and at least get paid for it. Due to fear, I couldn’t do it because all I knew was to have a job with a safety net. I continued washing cars just because I loved too but not enough to step out and do my own thing.
Years passed and I continued working when my wife, Jada Knox and our family returned to our church home The Redeemed Empowerment Center “The REC” under the leadership of Pastors Tara & Marc Crawford. We walked in and knew it was different, nothing like when we left.
There was a feeling of love, freedom, and life-changing transformation in the church. It was a judgment-free atmosphere. Once returning, we joined our Pastors in attending a leadership conference called EPIC and it was truly EPIC.
My wife would tell me all the time to quit and do what I love to do, but the fear was still there. Under the leadership of Pastor T, that fear was slowly leaving and when we left that conference I was a different man. I told my wife that we will sow a seed and watch God move… that was in January 2020 on the brink of Covid-19 rapidly approaching.
Months later Covid was really here and God said do you trust me? It’s time to leave your comfort zone and trust me. I told my wife that God said it was time and I’m leaving on May 15. During my time at work, I began setting up my business by getting a logo, website, marketing, and even building clientele.
As my time approached I had co-workers, VPs, and family telling me it was a crazy idea in the midst of people lining up for food, jobs closing, and a virus growing rapidly. I mean we were in a PANDEMIC! I knew of God’s power, so I trusted Him!
I walked out of my job and said God ok let’s do it I trust ya. My church family filled my calendar up before I could even go live. I had appointments booked before Jalyn Brown could finish my booking website and I was so excited! After a week of leaving my job, Perfect Under Pressure (PUP) Auto Spa was born.
Things started off really well but when I set up IG and FB it took off. I had to get my sister Mya Knox to help me get control of my social media and how to get great quality pictures. Now it’s almost unbearable to handle clients so I had to hire my nephew Ernest Henderson and when I got him trained I went from being able to do 3 vehicles to 5/6 daily.
We trained to become the best in the Mid-South and Tri-State areas. We went from just detailing vehicles to cleaning engines, headlight restoration, mold treatment, mildew treatment, pet hair removal, and paint correction.
I’m forever grateful for walking into The REC because that is where the fear of failure, defeat, shame, and generational curses was broken so that I could do what I love. There’s nothing better than seeing my celebrity clients smile when they see their vehicles after the P.U.P Auto Spa touch.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been smooth but it’s been worth it. Getting the same amount of money that I was used to having with a job. Finding a balance between running a business and having a family.

We provide mobile professional and affordable detailing services to clients in the Memphis and surrounding area. We offer tailor-made detail packages to cater to each client’s needs. Our clients are able to go online and pick out the package that they need and also add on additional services as well.
They are able to leave worry and stress out of the equation by taking advantage of our exclusive services. Our professionalism and attention to detail are what sets us apart from the rest of the field. “You like it clean, but we like it dirty!” Is our motto!
We like to educate our clients by helping them understand the difference between a detail and a car wash. Car detailing is not just a quick wash of the exterior components of a car. A detailed wash is a more thorough, in-depth version of a regular car wash. The use of great quality products and great service will make the car gleam and minimize surface scratches.
The difference between a car wash and a car detail is unrecognizable. We’re very passionate about what we do. We try to make sure each experience is unlike anything the client has ever had.
