Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlon Thomas.
Hi Marlon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with a closet and a dream 4 years ago. I started my podcast “A Closet And A Dream” broadcasting from my closet at home. It’s an informative podcast with a comedic twist. I talk about relationships and things happening in the African American community.
I just wanted to be a male voice for my community. Oftentimes, the male voices in my community are represented mostly by athletes and Hip-hop artists. I just wanted to cover subjects from an intelligent African American male’s perspective. I also do spiritual motivational videos. I told my mom when I was four I wanted to have a son, daughter, and be a preacher in that exact order.
My son is 20, my daughter is 5, and now I’m ministering through my Motivational Videos. My podcast “A Closet And A Dream” is currently on iHeartRadio, Spotify, & Google Podcast. I have a YouTube page for my Motivational Videos called Mister M’s Closet.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a struggle as with all dreams. No dreams come easy at all. You have to believe in yourself. You have to commit.
Most commit for 90 days or less and expect results. However, it doesn’t work like that. You have to have total faith that your dream will come to pass. And not that tiny mustard seed faith. You have to have a very strong faith in God.
Your dreams will be tested. People will laugh and say things about it. But if you stand strong and stay consistent they will definitely come to be.

I’m a Podcaster and a Motivational Speaker. I’m known for my spiritual motivational videos and my podcast “A Closet And A Dream”.
The thing that sets me apart from others on my Podcast is my humor while tackling the real subject matter. I started my podcast with no support. I created a Facebook page for it and worked on that by myself.
No advertisement at all. And now, I’m on all major podcast platforms. My motivational videos are spiritually based. I tackle subjects such as peace of mind, failure, and trust, to name a few.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’m also releasing an audiobook called My Journal ‘The Early Years’. It’s full of humorous stories about my childhood.

I feel so inspired reading this article and I’m grateful to know more of Marlon’s story. I met Marlon a couple of years back and I told him about my dream and he immediately supported me. The encouragement was so good for my spirit. I know Marlon will touch the lives of so many more through his podcast, audiobook, and online ministry. Keep up the purpose filled work!
