Daily Inspiration: Meet Mikelsey Jordan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikelsey Jordan.

Hi Mikelsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In June of 2021, I launched Posh Picnics of Memphis with the mindset to allow friends and loved ones the ability to gather and have mini-modernized picnics safely with the pandemic going on, and bring people out into the fresh air and enjoy the beauty around them.

With coronavirus shutting the world down it allowed me to take the time to work on rebranding and revamping the visual of how I wanted viewers to see the true Posh Picnics of Memphis and allow it to take off with its fullest potential.

Since taking that time and working on the smaller details and marketing the business I truly believe it has made a difference and more people are able to finally see Posh Picnics of Memphis and taking an interest.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When creating and producing your own business I feel it is impossible to prevent any bumps or bruises along the way.

Although I feel my biggest success moments and situations have come from my bumps and bruises along the road throughout this journey. Finding out what style I truly want to bring to the table. Finding out who my audience is. How can I make my business marketable for any and everyone to enjoy?

It’s a constant day-to-day challenge to push forward and make my business known in my community in order to gain that recognition for all aspects.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently a student, about to graduate in December of 2022 with my bachelor’s in business administration. I just landed a new career in my field of study being a project coordinator which I am most excited about.

I have attended the University of Memphis to gain my degree in consumer science education being an interior designer which is my passion. I am most known for my eye for design and for being crafty to make almost anything visually come alive in person.

The one thing that sets me apart is being that I have a pure determination and drive to see a project through and through until it is perfected and mastered. Some call it OCD or being controlling but I call it perfectly determined.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is when you can sit back and reminisce on your journey. When all the hard work is done and you can sit and stare at the finished result in amazement.
