Hi Christie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, thank you for highlighting my story. I got started in this business out of frustration and a burning desire. I’ve always wanted to be my own boss and own my own business. I really felt if I could work hard to build someone else’s business surely, I could put that same energy into building my own business.
I wanted more for myself and my family. I wanted to create a brand to prove to myself and my children that anything is possible. I am showing them they can do and be whatever they want with hard work and commitment.
I took a hobby and love for jewelry and found my beautiful gift. Kiersy Kay Designs is the thing I’m truly passionate about. It is the thing I searched and prayed for. For me, wearing jewelry gave me confidence and made me feel pretty. When you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside.
For me, self-confidence started with my outward appearance and brought out the inner beauty I was hiding. Jewelry shows your personality without saying a word. It truly speaks for you and I love everything about this.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road.
I would say one of the biggest challenges I had to overcome was actually putting myself out there and sharing my gift with others. This opened the door for judgment and opinions of others and this terrified me. Getting out of my comfort zone and being vulnerable was a huge struggle.
Another obstacle, like many others that get started in this business, I am a self-taught jewelry maker. I had to do the leg work myself. I found books, resources, social media groups, tools, and mentors to master the skills I needed to become a jewelry designer and business owner.
I have to practice, study, and continue to put in the work to get to where I want to be.

The name Kiersy (Pronounced Cure-C) Kay Designs was inspired by my two daughters Kierstin & Kailyn. We specialize in handmade jewelry. It is what my customers love and what I’m known for. There is a personal touch of love that goes into each hand-crafted piece.
Each piece is made from my heart and I have been told that it really shines through. I love the joy and togetherness it brings, The brand is growing and expanding its products. We have added a variety of jewelry that I personally shop for. I look for the most stylish, trendy, and cost-efficient designs to bring you.
What set me apart is accessibility for those who choose to be a part of the Kiersy Kay community. Oftentimes, I will need to communicate with those who want to create a special design and I have to be able to listen and bring to life what they are looking for. Another thing that set me apart is my desire to have outstanding customer service.
I get so frustrated with businesses that lack this skill. I want my community to know I appreciate and value them. I will always go above their expectations.
I am most proud of the progress I have made. I am learning so much on this journey. I’m proud that people are paying attention and spreading the word. It’s slowly but surely moving. I want your readers to know that it is hard and sometimes lonely to be an entrepreneur in any industry.

I don’t feel luck has played a role in my business.
I feel it has been a combination of commitment, hard work, dedication, overcoming challenges, and changing my mindset. I genuinely feel we can accomplish anything we set our minds and heart to.
It will be this burning desire that can propel us to the next level. Life can be a rollercoaster ride, we have to navigate through the ups and downs.
