Life & Work with Quincy and Jamar Oliver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quincy and Jamar Oliver. Them and their team share their story with us below:

The Memphis prancing tigerettes started in 2007 in the garage of Mr. Quincy Oliver (who’s the head director and founder of this great team). The team has been going strong ever since then. While going through this dance journey this team has won over 200+ first place and grand champion trophies.

These kids have had the opportunity to travel to places they have never been and we are truly grateful to God for allowing us to do this for them!!!! One great accomplishment of the team is that they were one of the main featured teams on the hit tv show bring it on lifetime tv station for 4 out of 5 of the seasons!!!!!

Since then, the team has been asked to perform at many different events around the world and they are still going strong. This team has had many great things and people come out of it. We are an organization that believes in keeping the peace in the streets and keeping our kids safe.

We try to keep them as busy as possible because this world has so many negative things waiting for them and we believe we were sent here to save them from that.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely been rough.

From losing our first studio due to lack of finances and payments from kids to losing family members that were a part of the team due to passing away and of course, Covid sticking its ugly head in the way.

But, through the grace of God, we made it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I (Jamar) am an employee at regional one hospital in the patient financial office. We are the glue that holds the hospital together. I am also the head coach of the award-winning Memphis prancing tigerettes.

I am best known for my cleanliness, the ability to adapt to my surroundings, and just how positive and the life of the party I am.

Any big plans?
We are looking to definitely expand the company brand. We are looking to not only stay in Memphis, TN but hit these other cities and place our amazing dance style there.

We are looking to reach more children in our community. Our goal is to make sure that there is truly no child left behind.
