Today we’d like to introduce you to Mya Dennis.
Hi Mya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my first business back in May of 2019.
It was called Kiss Me Cosmetics which consisted of handmade lipgloss and mink lash strips. I invested $300 dollars which were all I had at the time, but it was enough to get all of the supplies that I needed. I vlogged the process on my YouTube channel which is where I release many entrepreneur videos and still do as of today.
In 2020, I decided to add accessories and apparel and rebranded into what it is today known as TheMyaEvonneKollextionLLC. My mission was to make sure every woman felt confident enough to be themselves and enhance their beauty by shopping for my collection. Last year in March of 2021, I decided to become a lash artist and launched my second business known as Mesmerizing Minks By May Evonne.
That was one of the best decisions I made. Here I am today a year and 4 months into my lash career, and I’ve helped bring out so much self-confidence in so many beautiful women. I also offer brow tint services. I am also a graphic designer which is my third business named BrandedByM.E.
I love everything I do because it helps others reach their personal and business goals. It hasn’t been an easy road but my daughter Eva Skye is my motivation. I juggle it all on top of being an undergraduate student at the University of Memphis studying Business Information & Technology.
I continue to push so hard because I grew up without much so I aim to create generational wealth for my family.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur over the past 3 years has taught me that patience is a virtue.
I had to learn that success doesn’t come overnight. I also learned that even if you don’t get a lot of support that doesn’t mean you should give up.
I’ve gained skills such as determination and dedication because that is what it takes to run a successful business.

I specialize in a variety of lash styles, eyebrow enhancement, graphic design, etc.
I am known for striving to do my best work and not giving up. What sets my brand apart from other brands is that I want to make everyone no matter their size, color, gender, or race feel like they are beautiful on the inside and out.
What are your plans for the future?
My plan for the future is to own my lash supply store/salon.
I plan on having multiple businesses do what I love in each one. I’m also aiming to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in business to take my business to the next level and gain more professionalism.
