Meet Jada Love of Jada Love Hair Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Love.

Hi Jada, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always had a thing for the beauty industry growing up. I always wanted to pursue a career in modeling and beauty pageants; I was also very into hair and makeup. Early teens, I began to practice hair and makeup on myself, my family, and my friends; I just knew that when people look good, they feel even better. In high school, I started doing different modeling gigs, which spilled over into my early college years. Attending UAPB, I joined a modeling organization called TWISTED CREATIONS. It was the best highlight of my early modeling career. Shortly after, I would get paid to do my college friends’ and classmates’ hair and makeup. I decided to leave college and attend Beauty Empire, and I became a cosmetologist license. I fell in love with doing locks and helping natural hair grow and look great while doing it. I now own Jada Love Hair Studio. This summer, I have been given the opportunity to service my community and do free re-twist and styles for kids going back to school along with LeeBrain B’ Styles Walker and many other talented lociticans here in Memphis, TN; I was also allowing walking in the Mem-Gala by Erand Williams. Is this event currently the biggest show that’s happening in Memphis right? All of the money from this event will be donated to organ transplant patients; It’s a blessing to be a blessing while doing what I love to do. Walking in my passion and being a help to my community is very important to me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I come from a rough background, so it’s nothing I can’t get through. I am currently experiencing a few challenges: being a full-time college student, a mom, and an entrepreneur; I am presently learning time management; I have also had trouble managing my time. I have a counselor, so we are trying different techniques that work best for me. I try to find a balance between being a full-time mom, being a full-time college student, making sure I make it to all my classes on time, and turning in homework. All while modeling and doing hair while maintaining personal relationships. I have so much going on. I have extended my beauty brand and now offer hair growth oil. I will always put God first and know everything else will be fine. Wearing so many different hats in life is very challenging for anyone. I always pray, try to work out often, do yoga, sleep when I can, and always be kind to myself and others. I Am currently reconditioning my mind. I’m unlearning a lot of things and relearning. I am presently reading Think and Grow Rich.

We’ve been impressed with Jada Love Hair Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jada Love Hair Studio specializes in healthy hair growth, starter locks, lock maintenance, lock extensions, faux locks/soft locks, and extended lock ponytails. What sets me apart from other hairstylists is that I am very knowledgeable about locks. I know you don’t put conditioner on waves unless you are trying to solve or prevent a problem; I also pride myself on how fast I can do a re-twist and still provide excellent quality work. I am most proud of building my brand on my own. When you do it yourself, nobody can take that away from you. I always teach classes for those who want to learn and create another source of income. For more information, follow my hair page on Instagram, Jada_lovehair, and Facebook page Jada Love Hair Studio. I can also be booked for fashion shows, photoshoots, videos, and promo events at jadabeauty2020@gmail.com. I also just started acting and am working on a film called MMM Secrets with Willie Moore and Crystal Harris. I have also been cast in another movie that I can’t talk about yet.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have a history of dancing. Growing up throughout my school years, I was a majorette and a flag girl, and I danced on the hip hop teams. Dancing helps keep my body in shape, and it helps build my confidence. After I birthed my son in 2020, I didn’t feel the same about my body. It took me a while to get back to myself. I prayed that God would help me build my self-confidence again, and I started runway modeling again; I did not expect to build my confidence in such a way. I am so grateful for this journey. I hope to inspire other girls and women to keep going no matter what and know that whatever they want is already in you. You have to pray, find motivation, research and get it. All of the power you need is within yourself. All you have to do is listen to you.
