Hi Zach, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Supersonic Art started as a personal log of art I enjoyed on Tumblr in 2008. From there, I started interviewing some of my friends – who happened to be up-and-coming artists worldwide. These interviews were noticed by the editors of Hi-Fructose magazine, and I was asked to start writing for them. From there, it was a whirlwind of activity. Supersonic Art became a destination for artists and creatives worldwide, and my friends opened galleries that needed curators. I began curating exhibitions in 2011. Since that point, Supersonic Art has garnered over 1 million global subscribers on our platforms and is visited by hundreds of thousands of people monthly.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are plenty of times, especially working in a digital landscape, that make it is hard to quantify the effect that you’re having. In these moments, you must remember that at the end of the day, you’re only doing this for yourself. And that’s what passion is—continuing to do something, even if no one else notices because you love it.
