Rising Stars: Meet Delaney Dream Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Delaney Dream Taylor.

Hi Delaney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I, her Mother ( Niaesha Downey), started just posting a picture of Delaney when she was about 1 month old , went to sleep, woke up, and she was viral on instagram for not only how beautiful she was but her trendy baby fashion that’s rare for a baby to wear. After this, she went viral a couple more times on Facebook. Then, many small business boutiques started reaching out to me, wanting her to model their clothes. I wasn’t aware that babies could be Influencers on social media until I started scrolling through these boutiques and seeing actual babies with instagram accounts ran by their parents. I decided to make Delaney an account. Then I decided to make her a TikTok account, I posted a video of her holding a bottle with her feet around age 5 months, and it took off from there. She got over 2 million views on TikTok and Instagram she gained so many followers.

The video was everywhere. Celebrities were reposting it; it even made it on a Tv show called Right this minute. Everyone just loved Delaney, and it motivated me to keep going. I started posting more videos and photos of her wearing outfits you can’t find in stores and videos of her taste-testing foods. She ended up with 1 million followers within a year of being on Tiktok. She turned  2 on Nov 12th and has 1.5m followers on TikTok. That’s a big deal! She also has over 100k followers on Instagram, and we just moved her platform to Facebook and youtube and they both have 30k+ followers and subscribers . I’m proud of her. Her family is proud of her; nothing is forced. She loves doing it; we have a lot of fun. It’s opened up a lot of opportunities for her. Everywhere we go, little kids recognize her and love her. And it made me realize my baby, my little 2-year-old, is a Mini Influencer with so many supporters, and I plan to keep going until she doesn’t want to do it anymore!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not easy. We face a lot of people who troll the internet for no reason. Many followers came with many fans and were making fake pages of Delaney, which was very overwhelming for me. Fans also are haters, and they were reporting her pages saying minor safety and Tiktok kept banning her account. And also, Delaney is a baby at the end of the day, so it’s not always easy to provide content. I only do it when she wants to.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a content creator. I’m my daughter’s Manager, or we can say Momanger. It’s not easy as it looks. It takes a lot of time and dedication. I love doing it; I love watching my baby grow and shine. I’m most proud of my baby girl for being so adorable and effortlessly just being herself that she could grab the hearts of many people worldwide. What set her apart from others? Easy, how many 2-year-olds do you know with over 1m followers on TikTok for simply being beautiful, trendy, and full of life?

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
A lot of people ask me how I got my baby started. As I said, it was a typical day for me to post her, and she just went viral. If it’s something you want to do, make your baby an account and keep posting your baby using hashtags so people can see your baby. Please don’t force it. If it’s meant for you, your baby will take off independently. I see it a lot. What worked for me was staying consistent with posting her, brand repping with small shops to get her seen more, and just recording her being her.
