Today we’d like to introduce you to Nia Thomas.
Hi Nia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started as a young girl; I’ve always had a passion for Fashion, Modeling, and Decor. My senior year of high school allowed me to learn even more. After High school and well into college, my passion for business and fashion grew more and more. I worked for a boutique (Sugah Mommas) and learned the business side of merchandising, creating events, and Helping people in all aspects, from fashion shows to high school model training. I eventually moved on and began working for a company that allowed me to use my influential purpose to cultivate people within my leadership skills. I’m currently in a management position while also stepping into entrepreneurship; my blog is my baby, and I’m showing her some well-needed TLC. Nia J Enterprises will become a household name one day, and I plan on working to achieve that accomplishment for myself. The purpose is who I am and what makes me, me. The Origin of my name Nia- means Purpose in Swahili. I have found such a sense of fulfillment in my own life. I enjoy writing about my passions, what interests me, and what interests others, and sharing it with the world. I enjoy finding what purpose I have on this place we call earth. I plan to become a household name in whatever aspects of life my journey takes me. My presence here is for people to take the journey with me. Enjoy the content that I bring because it is authentically who I am. NJE blog will showcase my fashion skills, creative skills, home decor, and so much more. Business is my second love, as fashion is first, so check out my blog and give your honest feedback! – Nia J.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey has been far from easy; more personal struggles have hindered me than anything. Putting yourself on the back burner and second-guessing yourself is always a hindrance to your greatest potential. As I always say, practice makes progress; nothing is successful without your full commitment and intentional consistency. Self-doubt is real; Anxiety is real. Only some of these things help with reaching a set goal. I’ll tell anyone that feeling like you haven’t accomplished everything by a certain age is normal, but allow yourself gracefully to work through those fears.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Nia J Enterprises- NJE?
NJE is my platform to showcase my passions. My blog is a creative space to explore my deeper love for fashion, decor & purpose content. This blog is a space for creatives to come and express their similar passions and for brands to collaborate with me as they see fit for their business. This entrepreneurship era is about the next big and new thing; I’m here to avoid hopping on the bandwagon. I am here to be authentically unique in my influential approach. I would love for readers to see themselves in my content and for brands to see their ideal consumers from it.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I’m a Southern City Girl, and I Love it! Memphis is my city; born and raised. I love the culture, the arts &the food. On the other hand, Memphis has a long way to go for progression. Many communities are out of touch with the city, and homelessness and various political issues are constantly arising. I pray for my city and all people here.
