Today we’d like to introduce you to Belinda Fisher-Hale.
Hi Belinda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have over 40 years of hair experience working as a professional hair designer and with the explosion of clients wearing wigs and weaves, my hair business had slowed down. Since I had a passion for dogs… my husband asked me, “Why don’t I do something with dogs?” So, I called around the yellow pages and spoke with Mrs. Laura at Pet Set and started working for $8.50 as a bather. I quickly realized how much I enjoyed this and moved upward to grooming.
That’s when I realized that this was something I had a passion for doing!
I received my certification for Dog Grooming in 2011 and worked for Pet Set for 3 years. I officially opened Glamour Grooming & Boarding in 2019. Specializing in dog cuts and treatments, Glamour Grooming & Boarding is a boutique beauty salon & boarding for dogs where I pamper each dog. I want each and every dog to “Look Good, Feel Good and Smell Good!”
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I was let go from Pet Set because Mrs. Laura could not afford me. I was distraught. When I left there, I did not know what to do. So I went to California came back to Memphis and turned one of my rental properties into a beauty & boarding salon.

I specialize in grooming & boarding dogs. I am a professional hair designer so I love everything there is to cutting & grooming dogs’ hair!
I can also provide medicated shampoos and skin treatments for dogs with sensitive skin conditions like psoriasis, dandruff, allergies, and more. I also use organic products in my salon. I absolutely love what I do. My job is to do for them, what they can’t do for themselves.
