Hi Tabatha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
At the age of 12, I started cleaning within my grandparent’s franchise cleaning business. They specialized in commercial and janitorial services throughout Arkansas and the surrounding areas. I learned everything about the cleaning business from them. My grandmother taught me the cleaning side of it while my grandfather taught me the business side.
Because of Covid, the cleaning industry has evolved in regard to the way we clean, cleaning products, and cleaning styles. Fast forwarding, I have used everything that I was taught and implemented it in my business which is how I got to where I am now. Also, having a background in healthcare providing direct and indirect patient care has been a key attribute to the health and safety of the environments I clean.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Being small business owners, we are often overlooked due to that one adjective that describes our business as “small.”
So, finding new customers has been challenging because Covid has a lot of businesses utilizing their employees to keep the office clean which has its pros and cons. However, those businesses are much smaller. Large cleaning companies have the ability to seize big companies in the surrounding area as well.
We’ve been impressed with T&J Cleaning Service, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
T&J Cleaning Service is an independent, licensed, and bonded, established in Marion, Arkansas. Prior to starting an independent cleaning service, there have 20+ years of cleaning experience through a franchise company. T&J Cleaning Service also services the greater Memphis area.
We excel in Move In Move Out Cleaning, AirBnB, Commercial and Government Facilities, Office Cleaning, and Healthcare Facilities. We are proud to have established a robust clientele with many entrusting T&J Cleaning Service with their ongoing, new, and repeat cleaning needs. T&J Cleaning Service operates with the highest integrity, enforcing strong supervision and quality control guidelines to plan and carry out necessary and customized cleaning details in a professional and efficient manner. My services are set apart by my disinfecting/sanitizing and air quality program. These are essential in any business to ensure the health and safety of all customers and staff.
My most proud brand is providing free cleaning services for up to four hours to families who have lost a loved one and I bring a bouquet of flowers or provide a spray for the homegoing services. I also provide cleaning services to the elderly as well who live alone.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from growing up.
I was working with my grandparents. My grandfather always purchased a van as means of transportation for his company.
He would pick up everyone and drop each group off at their designated accounts to clean. Once we were done, he would inspect and take us out to eat if we had huge jobs outside of our regular work, like stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning. We were able to spend time together, although we were working we still had the opportunity to laugh, smile, and joke around because we were still kids.
