Exploring Life & Business with Channayah Adah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Channayah Adah.

Hi Channayah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started when I began to really study and read the bible for myself and learn more about how the words connected with me being a Hebrew Israelite according to 1 Peter 2:9, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. I never was one who liked to be around a lot of people, that is how I know that this journey was ordained by The Highest God.

I began to have the urge to connect with sisters that I had nothing in common and build off the things that I could relate to. I remember having a discussion with my little sister, that I want to bring sisters together and help as many sisters as I can to come back to their first love, the GOD of the bible according to Philippians 2:4. “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

I figured that if I could exhibit the Love of Christ, they would wonder and ask “Why do you do what you do” and then I can lay the foundation of Love, HIS law, and the goodness of how they both connect. Fast forward to 2019, I started making social media posts about connecting with sisters and bringing them together and someone commented “That will never happen! women are too messy and jealous.” That was all the fire I needed to prove them wrong and My FATHER right!

I created S.H.E. (Sisters Helping Each Other) I began to reach out to a few sisters that I was on one accord with according to Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they are agreed? From there, I realized that these sisters I have brought together only have me in common, so I decided for one year we would just build with each other so that when we did share this amazing ministry with others, they would see the light. The next year we hosted our very first sister brunch called She’s In Atlanta to introduce SHE to other women with the hopes they would want to build too! We sold out of tickets the first week!

Every few weeks, we would add something else to our mission, whether it was giving out food, clothing, or toiletries to those in need, which we call #Flats2TheGround. We usually walk through Five Points, Atlanta to disburse what we have which includes handing out flyers that have more about the love of Christ and returning to The Most High GOD laws, statutes, and commands. The goal here is to not only give them fish but teach them how to fish so they would never be hungry. We do this a few times throughout the month along with outreach to our community.

The main goal is to raise funds for a shelter so that we can help women and children who are the victims of heinous crimes, like domestic abuse, or trafficking, or have just fallen on hard times. The need is truly out there. According to the OECD Affordable Housing Database Homeless Population, there could be over 580,000 homeless people in the United States alone. We get emails and calls from all over with requests for assistance that we can’t provide due to no funding. Our mission statement is to “Giving Hope through Humility.

S.H.E. is broken down into three sections Serving, Helping, and Edifying. When we do get our Shelter, it will also have a resource center that will have all the tools needed to help with resumes, job searching, child care, workshops, and most importantly, spirituality. That is really the most important piece of what we do! The goal is that through our kind acts, they would see the love of Christ through our actions and not only in word but deed according to 1 John 3:18 KJV: My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

We are one month out from our fourth sister’s brunch and we are excited to keep the building and love going! Many people will say “you” are doing a good thing, but if it wasn’t for sisters proving that it was possible to build, I would not be here today with my sisters putting one brick at a time! Every single sister who has put their Flats 2 The Ground, and some of our brothers (lol, can’t forget them) have made this thought a reality through the help of THE MOST HIGHT GOD according to Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all, however, it has been so worth it! Without having connections or a grant writer to gain funding to do more for our people has been really tough. Sometimes, people you start with, you don’t finish with and that is always one struggle that I always find hard to bounce back from.

The vision is clear to me, but there are times when it is not coming to fruition fast enough or not going the way someone else would have it go, communication breaks down and then you go from having a team of 10 to a team of 7 and then 5 sometimes it’s only you! But I can’t give up. I don’t have the option to stop or quit. I have to keep going because 1 or 100, this mission MUST go forth!

There are too many women and children in need and until my last breath, I will keep going according to Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. So in reality, I know that anything worth having is worth fighting for so there will be struggles, how will The FATHER know you are really about HIS business? HIS word never comes back void, 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
S.H.E. is a nonprofit organization that is designed to help women and children find a safe haven who have been the victims of crimes against nature, trafficked or abused, and those who have fallen on hard times to understand they are not alone. Our vision statement is We are a group of women who are striving to Inspire others through our help to follow Christ by being the example and being the light. We pray our light can guide them out of the darkness. into the arms of HIS love.

What sets us apart from other organizations is that our work does not stop when we pull the wagons in from giving food to the homeless. We are still on the clock for that woman who needs help at 2 AM and has nowhere to go when the other places are closed. Our duty is first to serve the Kingdom according to Matthew 6:33 But seeks ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you and by doing that, somehow HE makes it happen when the account balance is $0.

I am most proud that we have not wavered in our faith and we will not compromise our beliefs and values for any amount of money. I would love for your readers to know that while they have not heard of S.H.E. just yet, there is always tomorrow.

For that reason, I will keep working around the clock sending emails, making calls, and hitting the pavement to find ways to get funding for our shelter and other needs that we have to serve the community with the hopes that they will see the love of Christ through our giving Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
Serving others is what matters most to me. The reason is found in Acts 20:35 – I have showed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive!

My mission is to be like Christ, I wake up every day and think “Who can I smile at today?” with the hopes that they will ask me why I have this smile so I can tell them the good news according to 2 Timothy 4:2-12! Christ gave His life for the very people who crucified Him, and while I can’t do that act, I can die to my flesh daily and show someone who may not know love, some love through a conversation, helping them financially, or just listening.
