Hidden Gems: Meet Chelsey Barringer of Graz’n Tables Charcuterie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsey Barringer.

Hi Chelsey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hello, I’m Chelsey Barringer, a passionate Memphian, and foodie who has turned my love for charcuterie boards into a thriving business. Memphis has been my home since I was four years old, and I deeply value my city and community.

During the pandemic, my friends and I held small gatherings where each of us brought food, wine, or a board game. It was during these gatherings that I fell in love with creating and presenting charcuterie boards. Experimenting with different flavors and foods was a form of art that allowed me to be creative while feeding the ones I love.

We did this so often, I gave each of my closest friends a board to keep. That’s now turned into my “signature,” each party board box comes with a wooden board you get to keep. It’s a nice surprise for every order. My love for charcuterie boards and sharing photos of them on social media led to requests from people who wanted me to build boards or bring their Pinterest ideas to life.

This inspired me to start the Graz’n Tables Charcuterie Company. We offer catering services for corporate events, weddings, and any major event, as well as private dinner parties or house parties with friends looking to play board games, drink wine, and share stories. Our focus is to create a stress-free fun experience for the host and guest to enjoy while they create core memories while Graz”n.

Since opening for business, we’ve become known for our unique adult lunch boxes that put a new spin on the popular kids’ Lunchables from the 90s. These lunch boxes are wildly popular because they provide a fun spin on a meal that often gets overlooked or skipped by busy adults. Our lunch boxes make having a healthy, fresh meal easy and affordable.

I want to provide my community with fresh, healthy, affordable food options. Did you know among cities with populations greater than 500,000, Memphis ranked second in overall poverty and child poverty? I want to give back to my community, no child should ever go hungry in our city. I’m currently working with local nonprofit organizations to donate food to help lower this growing statistic. More on that soon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a small business it’s hard to get brand awareness. I don’t have the big bucks to spend on advertisements to get to my customer base.

Social media and word-of-mouth referrals have launched my small business and `I’m thankful every day to the Memphis community. I’m working on partnering with a kitchen so I can have a public location.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Graz’n Tables Charcuterie?
We offer all locally sourced fresh ingredients, every board box comes with a wood board to keep, free (in-house) delivery comes with every order, made fresh daily, and only need a 2hr order window.

I’m also a small family-owned and operated business hoping to make a healthy impact on my community.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I hope to be a part of leading the change needed to lower the poverty and obesity statistics in Memphis, TN. I want to educate our community about the relationship between processed food consumption.

The city of Memphis has a poverty rate of 22.6%. This is a real problem for my city and I’m ready to take action. I want the youth and work class to have healthy affordable options on demand.
