Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Mommy and Miya Essentials in December of 2021 with a push from my grandson and a request from my daughter Damiya to create our own business. I researched the benefits of Eczema and shea butter and loved how shea butter is made and where it comes from. I then started mixing products using all-natural and organic treatment regimes for eczema, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, and much more!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road but over time, we have made strides that have allowed our business to thrive. The BBA program selected us to place our products on Amazon. We are currently finalizing those steps.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I absolutely love helping others with over 2o years of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and 2 years of experience in Social Work my calling is clear. I have a passion for assisting others in healing physically, emotionally, and holistically.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was extremely shy but had the desire of becoming a pediatrician. I didn’t become a pediatrician. However, I did become an African American woman who cared enough for not only her skin but many others. I create natural organic products to treat issues with dry skin. And for that, I am beyond proud of myself! I am creating generational wealth and a gift for my family to carry on!
