Today we’d like to introduce you to Natashia Tuggle.
Hi Natashia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I always had a love for food as early as I can remember. Growing up, we lived with my grandparents and they were awesome cooks. I learn most of my techniques from watching them and also being around my mom and her sisters.
Food was just one of those things that brought us together as a family. It made us feel together and whole and I also believe that healed us in a way. I owe family everything as far as my passion when it comes to food.
I appreciate the stories that were told over food. I’m grateful to have been shown good practices early in my journey. I wouldn’t be anything without my tribe. They made me who I am today and I am truly humbled and blessed.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I do believe everyone’s journey with anything in life is different. I knew what I wanted to do. I just didn’t know how to start. I remember losing my job, and that day was so traumatic for me because I did not know what I was going to do. I didn’t know how I was gonna pay my bills let alone survive. So, of course, I called my mom and I am just crying in the car and she reassured me that you already have a job. You can cook this is a sign for you to do what God has put you on this earth to do. Let’s just say that was a turning point and Theknifespot was born.
I experience quite a few struggles. I didn’t know how to market my brand I didn’t have funds for my brand. What I did know is that I love to cook and my food is really good. I just know people are willing to buy it. So in the beginning I was doing plate lunches. Oh my goodness. I took so many losses because I wasn’t taking payments or deposits upfront. As I’m thinking to myself, this is not going to work. I can’t keep breaking even and not making a profit. So I tapped into Meal Prep. Meal Prep was a lane that was made just for me.
I started to communicate with health and wellness professionals, gym enthusiasts, bariatric patients, people who just didn’t have time to cook, or people who didn’t know how to cook, everything changed for me. I realized my purpose. I must feed the people. Now, we have expanded into catering, which has been an amazing experience. I love the challenge that comes with it all!!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson for me is trusting the process. Always be a student of the craft. Every day that I am granted to walk this earth I just try to be better than I was the day before. I know that the community is what makes us grow and prosper.
