Hi Durran, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I love helping people and making their lives easier. It has been a passion of my life since I was a kid. However, I have also loved cars as well. So in 2002, I started my career in the automotive industry where I could do both. I was able to help my first customer buy a car on Memorial Day 2002, and I have not looked back since. While selling cars in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I went to school at the University of New Mexico (UNM). I finished school in 2007 with a Business Degree in Accounting.
Upon graduation, I was able to join Chrysler as a District Sales Manager in Memphis, Tennessee. During this time, I served 12-15 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dealers and assisted them with selling and ordering vehicles, I loved it! However, after about a year I joined a dealership in Jackson, TN to assist with Online Sales and Marketing because there was a huge opportunity during this time in 2008, when most dealerships were not even utilizing Social Media or Google to help their brand.
After moving from Online Sales and Marketing to becoming the General Sales Manager at the Dealership, along with consulting at Cox Automotive as a District Sales Manager overseeing 200 dealerships, I founded Cage Automotive, which is focused on helping dealerships create the Ultimate Online Experience, Brand their Dealership, and set up their CRMs for Customer Retention. We have helped dealerships become number 1 in their region, along with becoming the number 1 retailer in the nation using our proven system and processes.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our path has been everything but smooth, however, the struggles and lessons we learned along the way are what made us the company we are today. I believe we learn so much more from our setbacks than we learn from our successes.
The struggles we encountered were: People not knowing who we were at the beginning, lack of a sales and marketing team, being a solopreneur to start, the pandemic, traveling across the country, and still being a good husband and father to my family.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Be patient. Keep learning every day. Connect with people everywhere with the goal of helping them accomplish something. Make people’s lives better, and your life will become better.
