Hi Natosha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Upon relocating from Dallas, TX, to Memphis, TN, with my two-month-old daughter, I was driven by the desire to create a lasting legacy for her. Drawing from my lifelong passion for writing, I embarked on a blogging journey under the pseudonym “A Mouthful” before formalizing it into a brand. In 2018, I independently published my debut book, “My Love Journal,” originally conceptualized as “A Memoir of Love,” chronicling personal experiences with dating and romance through journals, poems, and ballots. The success of my first publication led to the establishment of “A Mouthful Writing Services,” offering a range of services from resume writing to tutoring students in APA writing for academic papers. Recognizing the need for additional services, I became a Notary Public for the State of Tennessee to complement my writing endeavors. In 2020, I released my second book, “My Encouragement Journal,” reflecting on moments of self-motivation during challenging times. This interactive book prompts readers to engage with questions after each entry. Subsequently, I expanded my scope to assist others in self-publishing their works. From 2021 to April 2024, my passion for writing evolved into a thriving business. In early 2024, I made the strategic decision to rebrand as “A Mouthful Publishing Services LLC,” focusing solely on book publishing while maintaining my role as a notary. This journey has transformed my passion into a lifelong career.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Navigating the journey of building a brand or business has been anything but straightforward. It’s a mix of challenging and fulfilling moments, ultimately leading to a deeply rewarding experience. One of the major hurdles I’ve encountered, common to many business owners, is the necessity to juggle multiple roles. From owner to customer service representative, accountant to document processor, book designer to editor, and coach, wearing numerous hats can be daunting. A significant challenge I faced was the lack of personal connections within the writing and book publishing industry when I first started. This meant diving into uncharted territory, constantly learning and adapting to the nuances of the literary world. Despite the steep learning curve, I thrive on challenges and am continuously expanding my knowledge base.
In essence, the journey of entrepreneurship is characterized by constant growth and adaptation. There are moments of doubt and uncertainty, but the fulfillment derived from helping others and pursuing my passion outweighs any obstacles. As I continue on this path, I am committed to evolving and making a lasting impact in the lives of those I serve.

I’d be delighted to delve into my professional endeavors. As the proprietor of A Mouthful Publishing Services, my focus lies in book coaching, where I guide authors through the process of organizing their thoughts and refining their written work into polished manuscripts. Additionally, I excel in manuscript editing and formatting, ensuring they are publication-ready. Another facet of my expertise lies in crafting visually compelling book covers, translating ideas into captivating visuals that align with the essence of the published work. In my role as a Project Manager, I specialize in maintaining schedules, orchestrating project plans, and facilitating meetings while diligently documenting proceedings. I bring adeptness in business analysis, aiding in the formulation of business requirement documents and overseeing user acceptance testing and preparation.
Known for my upbeat and approachable demeanor, I’m often sought after as the dependable confidante among friends, colleagues, and family members. My innate inclination towards honesty and willingness to lend a helping hand define my reputation.
Above all, my proudest achievement is motherhood. My daughter serves as a constant source of inspiration, igniting a relentless drive within me to persevere through challenges and remain steadfast in my pursuits.
What distinguishes me is my unwavering determination and authenticity. I prioritize fostering genuine connections with authors, transforming professional relationships into lifelong friendships. As a fervent advocate for human connection, I take pride in my role as both a book publisher and a nurturing presence in the lives of those I serve.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The key qualities that I attribute to my success are authenticity, honesty, respect, active listening, and self-accountability. These attributes are fundamental in every aspect of my life and work. Authenticity is paramount as it attracts like-minded individuals and fosters genuine connections along my journey of personal and professional growth. Honesty serves as the bedrock for building and nurturing relationships; integrity is non-negotiable in all interactions.
Respect is ingrained in my upbringing and guides my interactions with others, regardless of circumstances. Active listening is an ongoing skill I am honing, recognizing its critical role in understanding others’ perspectives and effectively incorporating feedback into my work.
Lastly, self-accountability is indispensable in my independent work. Maintaining discipline and adhering to self-imposed standards ensures the quality and longevity of my efforts. Without taking ownership of my actions and responsibilities, the foundation of my work would crumble.
