Today we’d like to introduce you to denicia brown.
Hi Denicia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
I can’t speak on my case too much because it’s still pending, but I can say I don’t trust everyone with your child. Everyone is incapable of caring for a child, especially when they don’t have their own. Still, I trusted a man I was in a relationship with for almost a year to watch my son while I worked, but instead, my son was beaten so severely he could’ve died. I can’t talk more about the interview, but I won’t go into details because the case is still pending.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been hard for me. I mean, it takes a minute to get over situations like this. Still, especially when dealing with CPS, the judge, the police system, and people having bad things to say, you know it’s a very rocky road. Still, i think I can handle it. My son is okay now. He’s back to normal, but I feel like he didn’t get the justice he deserves as a victim of abuse at only 2 years old.
I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a rap/singing artist from Earle, a small town in Arkansas. I am also a host; I host parties wherever I’m booked. I also have a little fan base. I’m famous in Memphis, TN, and doing music and hosting keeps my head off the negative and keeps me straight. I’m most proud of the woman I’ve become. I used to be wild and didn’t care about a lot of things, but now I got my eyes open, and I’m looking at what’s in front of me and not behind my attitude, the way I think, and my mentality is what sets me aside from the rest.
