Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyree Lewis
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At one point in time I was involved in a lot of worldly things and was very overwhelmed. I couldn’t live the way I was living anymore or carry myself as such. So I decided to fully give my life to Jesus Christ and live for Him and not myself. Shortly after I made this decision I was blessed with a beautiful little girl and began to worry on how I will provide for her and my family. Then I had to remember that I am walking by faith and not by sight. Also that I knew my Father in Heaven would never leave nor forsake me. As I went along this beautiful journey I would think back on my old life and wonder, how can I incorporate this into a passion of mine. I prayed about it and something came to me and said fashion. So I began researching and taking things that I already knew myself about the fashion industry and made my first shirt. Honestly, it was terrible I thank God for the support from my family and friends but I knew I had more work to do. Now I ended up moving to Atlanta and having to get a Job to produce income. So I kind of put my passion/business on the back burner and focused on work. Then one day I received a blessing out of nowhere to where I could stop working and work from home. So I decided it was time to get back on the grind with my clothing brand and give it 100% this go round. I had a lot of late nights and early mornings learning and studying to perfect this craft of mine. Then finally my vision came to be, I rebranded my socials made a website and got a new design but this time with a purpose behind it. The “Armageddon tee”, which sold out within a month of online and hand to hand marketing this is just the beginning of something great! In conclusion I plan on changing this broken world one heart and soul at a time. Spreading love, joy and peace to society and fulfilling God’s prophecy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it definitely hasn’t been all peaches and cream. I’ve had many obstacles such as bad thoughts, cash flow and my environment. I’ve really had to separate my self from my old friends and situations that I had myself in also substance abuse. I had a hard time learning to not lean on my own understanding and letting God lead the way. It wasn’t really being afraid of what people were going to say about me. I was really addicted to the life style and substances I was consuming and needed a change.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Elevation requires separation ?
My brand name is Elevation requires separation. The meaning behind it is changing certain habits or patterns that keep you from bettering yourself or progressing in life. What makes me so proud to have this brand is it was only a thought at first. Then I began to analyse the brand name and see how it was my life story. Also I knew that it could relate to a lot of other people in this world with their struggles and their desires to grow.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favourite childhood memory’s was at my grandmothers house on holidays. Everyone in my family would put their everyday life on pause and come together at her house and have a ball. We would talk and laugh and crack jokes all day, then at night have a nice dinner and just enjoy one another’s presence.
