Today we’d like to introduce you to Gatekeeper
Hi Gatekeeper , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a huge wrestling fan even before I started school. Have attended many events growing up throughout the years. I made the decision to pursue my dream when I was in the hospital getting a BMT. I fought stage 4 cancer for 3 years even while training in the beginning. I was trained by Global and Mid-south legend the original Dapper Dan out of the UWE Pro Wrestling Academy. I started off as a ref and transitioned into a wrestler not many months afterwards. I’ve worked 5 different states thus far and want to make my way up to Memphis, Tennessee. It’s definitely a goal. I am currently the UWE light heavyweight champion as of July 12, 2024.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Fighting the aftermath of coming down from taking chemo I developed neuropathy in my legs and it took several months to get them 100%. Luckily I had a Coach and fellow training mates who believed in me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional wrestler. I’ve been in the business for 3 years now. While most people have a new style they adapt in the ring I try to bring back that reminiscence of the old school style from the days of the territory days. My favorites are Stone Cold Steve Austin, Jake the Snake Roberts, Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt. I am a dark southern outlaw from Texas. I talk in riddles and lots of trash. I like to brawl and manipulate my opponents whether it’s mentally or physically. I also enjoy hardcore wrestling. Something I’m proud of most is just being able to do this. It’s literally a dream come true and I’ve gotten to meet and even wrestle and work with legends.
What makes you happy?
Out of everything.. Being someone my son can look up to. It’s important to me.
