Conversations with Maya Gray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maya Gray

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey y’all hey 👋🏾 !!! I was born & raised in Munford, Tennessee, which is about 40 minutes outside of Memphis, Tennessee. Munford is your typical small town, where if you blink you’ll miss it lol , but I always had big dreams & wanted more!!!! Growing up, I always was a creative type and loved anything involving fashion, dance, acting, music ,art ,culture, beauty, etc. My parents ( being the good people that they are) wanted me to go into the typical Corporate America route, as that was all they knew. But I still had this longing that never went away. I decided to take matters in my own hands and start showing the world what my passions are and been loving it ever since 😉

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So I just started this new journey, and there are times where I feel a little bit of imposter syndrome or comparison to the BIG names in my industry , but then I have to remember that Everyone has to start somewhere and to just relax & enjoy every minute of the process!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a content creator that primarily post on Instagram,TikTok & YouTube. My niche is mainly in the Fashion • Beauty • Lifestyle community, but I also created a couple of comedy skits here and there!!! What people know me for is having a big, fun personality that can connect with just about anyone. What I am most proud of is that I always try to maintain a positive/optimistic attitude when approaching new ventures. What sets me apart from other creatives in my industry is that my socials don’t have that aesthetic look to it ( at least not right now 😉) I literally just use what’s in my apartment. I think it comes off more real & authentic ,viewers finds it to be more relatable!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was spending time with my brother & parents and going to our sports game and then to Chuck E Cheese or the movies every single weekend.. It’s was always an adventure!
