Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Beecham
Hi Marcus, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2018 my wife and I began to feel a pull towards the area of Cordova. We weren’t exactly sure why, but after a month or so in a meeting with my Pastor the Lord confirmed the call to plant a church in Cordova. Things moved quickly and we sold her home 6 months later and were living onsite by May of 2019. We found the perfect home in the perfect neighborhood and began hosting weekly bible studies and dinners in our home. We continued that until covid and then in May of 2022 we launched Promise Church.
We are very excited because on October 6th of 2024 we are moving to a local school and (MSEC) at 8360 Macon Rd Cordova, TN 38018 meeting at 11am.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One thing I learned about planting a church is you know everything about planting a church until you actually plant a church. Then you realize you don’t know anything about planting a church. ha But through every struggle God has been faithful and I could not do this without my wife (Brooke) and my children (Liam and Aspyn.)
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Promise Church – we exist to see the promises of God fulfilled in every life. We know that through His word, God has given each of us specific promises. Both individually and collectively. We are here to help people discover that a life with God isn’t problem free and there is such a peace knowing that God is with you.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Fishing with my granddaddy, hands down. We both loved to fish and it didn’t matter how hard his day was, if I was at the house we were fishing when he left work for the day.
