Meet Tracy Curry of East Memphis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Curry.

Tracy Curry

Hi Tracy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
How I started my Journey to compete and Coach in powerlifting was all by accident.

While I was playing football and going to college at William Penn . I always looked forward to strength and conditioning.

Learning the methods , art and discipline of lifting intrigued me . To a point where i changed my major to Exercise science with an emphasis in Strength and conditioning.

Due to my concussions i couldn’t play ball anymore and dedicated myself to the barbell.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This Road Has Been Challenging and for transparency

I dealt with Racism and Discrimination in my city in this sport . Because when I first started there were very few Black Powerlifters

It’s not many places to train in the city so we make it work and grind it out with the adjustments with a no quit attitude

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a strength / Conditioning and powerlifting coach , I’m known for powerlifting and teaching and prepping others on the art of powerlifting.

What I’m most proud of is the impact and the information to help others on their journey to the platform.

Because when I first started i didn’t have that . So I make sure to help others

And I’m also a mental health tech and a children’s mental health hospital.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
That I’m a big fan of Museums , Art, photography and I love to hike and a big movie buff .

Especially when it comes to goodfellas , the Godfather Series and casino those are my go to!!!

Art museums are my source of mental therapy . I love art . Before I Got into Powerlifting that’s all I did
