Today we’d like to introduce you to Maurica Robertson
Hi Maurica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I love to travel and I have travel extensively for over 30 years. Just recently since I lost my business to a Tornado I decided to apply my skills of planning, researching to booking and promoting travel. I plan and arrange all types of travel as well as plan, organize, book and lead guided trips all over the world. I also promote my travel and travel products on social media.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a travel advisor I’m always busy. I’m always looking for new locations and new adventures. Being from a small town it’s challenging to promote and run a small business. The road has been enjoyable and fun Being able to take part in others people travel and excitement makes me feel like I’m on the trip too. Besides the constant promoting and selling i do feel like helping people makes it worth it.
We’ve been impressed with Travels By Design , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Travels By Design. I specialize in travel, all types. I have an office as well as working from home or remote. I can travel the world and book travel while traveling. I also love to plan group travel and lead the groups. Destination weddings are also a big part of my business. Travel is a new opportunity to see the world and learn the culture and I want to be a part of the learning experience.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up as a kid my family didn’t travel much but I always dreamed and studied of Travels. Far off places excited me. I was always active and involved with everything I could do. Majorette, pianist, vocalist, dancer, 4H, church softball, basketball I stayed very active. I loved to sing and that love of the arts started my traveling experiences. I got to travel to contest, showcases and other events singing.
