Today we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn Henning-Peterson RN, BSN
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In high school I discovered my passion for science and all things aesthetic. My love for science led me to pursue my first Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Tennessee State University. After I graduated I got married shortly thereafter and became a mother; becoming a mother ignited the nurturer in me and fueled my desire to help people which led me to nursing school. I was accepted into the 1 year accelerated nursing program at Union University where I completed my second Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I’ve been a Registered Nurse for nearly 20 years now and I was initially inspired to enter the profession by my grandmother who worked in the local hospital for a few years and by my aunt who is also a RN. I’ve worked as a bedside nurse my entire career as either staff or as a travel nurse and a few years ago I realized I wanted something different from my nursing career. When I discovered RN’s could become nurse injectors it was a full circle moment for me because I realized my two passions were indeed intertwined. I knew that a career in aesthetics was the natural next step for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With my educational background and career path being almost completely in nursing, pivoting to a dual career in business has definitely been a bit of a challenge, albeit one that I’ve faced head on. My father, sister and brother-in-law are all entrepreneurs and my mother is a financial advisor with Raymond James so they’ve provided me with a wealth of knowledge regarding business and finance that would have been difficult for me to acquire otherwise. I’ve gained so much knowledge regarding starting and operating a business and I look forward to the path ahead.
We’ve been impressed with Luxe Beauté, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Luxe Beauté is a full service boutique medspa. We offer neurotoxins (Botox), dermal filler, and permanent spot fat reduction. I have extensive experience in Russian and Arabic lips. I always strive to provide my clients with their desired results in a safe and calming environment. My end goal is to expand my practice to include additional professionals who will provide the Luxe Beauté experience.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that the aesthetics industry is constantly evolving. For me, that means actively pursuing educational opportunities to ensure I remain on the cutting edge of the latest aesthetic techniques, services and procedures so that I can consistently offer my clients a premier experience at Luxe Beauté.
